We were in the middle of the porch and patio makeovers when I realized we were going to have to get creative with furniture placement. Here’s a look at how we shopped our house and updated the front porch.
A few weeks ago I hosted a birthday party and the guest of honor asked me to make a white cake with triple berry filling and cream cheese frosting. The process of baking this cake was a little involved but it delicious and worth every step.
It’s no secret that I love the smell of laundry drying out in the sunshine. But there are some things I don’t want to be seen on the clothesline, if you know what I mean. Thankfully, we’ve figured out a way to build an indoor drying rack for the laundry room. Here’s how it all came together in case you want to build your own too.

We’ve been working on this backyard patio makeover reveal for weeks. I wanted to create a space that felt relaxed and comfortable. An outdoor extension to the indoor living spaces that was a place to laugh, unwind, eat, host parties and grill out.
I was going through my wood stash in the garage when I came across this old door and instantly knew it would make the perfect menu board for our outdoor living space.
You may remember back in January, I featured a table we use for the back patio area. The stain color I originally used had more blue tones than gray so I decided to give the farmhouse style table another makeover using paint instead of stain.
One of my home goals for 2015 was to give an update to the back patio area. Painting the textured concrete as well as creating an outdoor seating and eating areas were top priorities. Here are a few tips I learned about staining a textured concrete patio.
