It doesn’t happen very often but I treasure the Saturday mornings when I can linger with a cup of coffee, read through a magazine and enjoy a leisurely breakfast. There’s nothing like starting your day off with a hearty meal surrounded by your friends or family. Here are the ingredients you’ll need to start your day off right with an easy to make veggie and herb omelet:
It’s in the seemingly ordinary mundane tasks we do everyday that creates the compilation of our memories. And since we have to do these things each day anyway, I want to take the time to enjoy those ordinary tasks as much as I can. It took about 10 minutes to set up. That’s all. 10 minutes to create a simple spring outdoor tablescape made from just another ordinary moment.
I found this dresser in early February when I was out shopping at an estate sale with my mom. We almost didn’t get it because there was no room in my car. The pieces I’ve painted in shades of blues and pale greens have been really selling well lately. This sea glass inspired color is a mix of Annie Sloan Chalk Paint Duck Egg, Country Grey and French Linen. It took a few tries to get the color I was after but I’m really happy with this custom combination.

As you guys know my sister welcomed a new baby into her family about two weeks ago. My mom has us all on “casserole patrol” and it was my turn to take them a meal this past weekend. I decided to make a batch of classic blondies to take for dessert.
You guys know what I love? The smell of freshly washed linens drying on the clothesline. It’s the perfect mix of lavender and sunshine. Yet for the past few months we’ve been dealing with major bouts of skin allergies so I’ve decided to start making my own laundry detergent.

One year ago this week, I was standing in the aisle of a local craft supply store debating the amount of baskets that were in my shopping cart. As I made my way to the check out line, I silently wondered if it would be worth it. I mean did I really NEED these baskets to help keep my pantry organized?
After months of struggling to find the time to get these projects finished, I am so excited this day is finally here. It’s an absolute gift to be able to express your creativity in any given space but when it came to the kitchen which was not my domain, there were a few requests: the maple cabinets could not be painted, there had to be a kitchen herb garden and finally there has to be as much open space for cooking and prep work as possible. Is that a challenge I hear?
I lobbied hard for a color of grout named Bone but in the end we chose Alabaster. It was supposed to be a pale gray that I think is going to look really nice given we have black granite countertops, maple cabinets and a wall colored aptly named Cream in My Coffee.
One of my home goals this year was to finish the kitchen. There’s wasn’t a major renovation planned just a few updates one of them being adding a backsplash. It didn’t take us very long to decide we wanted to use white subway tile in a basket weave pattern. But we struggled for months to find the time to actually complete the project. I knew I had to get an action plan together including a timeline. I gave myself until the end of February to finish the task and called my bestie S to the rescue.
