From the Front Porch

As I write this post, late Thursday, we’re officially as ready as we can be for Hurricane Hermine. I think we’re going to be ok but you can never be too cautious so we’re taking a full “batten down the hatches approach” just to be on the safe side. Please keep my hometown and Loblolly Manor in your thoughts and prayers as they’re currently in the “cone of concern.” I never imagined we’d be in the middle of painting the kitchen cabinets and simultaneously preparing hurricane kits. Life is such a crazy adventure sometimes.

Sending a big shout out and lots of love to Stacey of Poofing the Pillows for featuring my home on her blog series called First Friday Home Tour today. It’s always so much fun to get a sneak peek into so many beautiful homes. Stacey is a great lady and is constantly finding new ways to encourage and uplift other women. She’s awesome!

I’ve been following this journey all summer. I can’t imagine how much time it took to plan this Sea to Shining Sea trip but it’s been awesome to follow along. You can start at the beginning here

I love me some farmhouse neutrals and this Street of Dreams Home Tour is beautiful mix of modern farmhouse style.

It’s been raining here for the past few days. I always forget I need this until there’s a major down pour.

We probably won’t go out very much though. I’ll be at home snuggled up with something like this

Well, if the weather gets too bad, hop on I-65 and come straight north to a little town – Hartselle, Alabama! I have plenty of room and Hartselle has lots of antique/junk stores! Be safe!

    1. he he thank you Jan! That sounds like a dream trip. I am definitely a small town girl and I love antique and junk stores too. Thankfully, we had a few trees down and lots of limb debris to clean up but it was nothing like they were predicting which felt like a gift. Thank you so much for your kind words. I hope your weekend is totally fabulous and if I’m ever near Hartselle, lunch is on me 🙂 CoCo

    1. I appreciate you, Mindy, thank you so much! It’s always hard to know just how to prepare for storms like this especially with all the trees around and living in a low lying area. I can’t thank you enough for your sweet though and prayers. The kitchen makeover is coming right along and thankfully the weather has been way more cooperative this week. Sending you hugs for a fantastic weekend, CoCo

  5. Hope you stay safe and don’t lose your electricity and internet!!

    1. Thank you, Linda! We lost power and the internet but that just gave us a chance to “save” read “eat” all of the ice cream in the freezer he he. We were very blessed to only have tree and limb damage from the gusty winds. I appreciate your care and concern, you’re sweet. Wishing you a fantastic weekend, CoCo
