From the Front Porch

Happy first week of January! How are you guys holding up after the holidays? Are you getting back into the swing of things? It’s definitely been a full week filled with boxing up Christmas decorations, weather interruptions and taking care of business after ringing in the New Year on Monday which kind of seems like so long ago.

I swear, every time I see January 1st on the calendar I automatically think I need to organize all the things, lose weight, eat healthy, exercise, reconnect with all my girlfriends, write in my journal, call my family every day and to start accomplishing the things on my 2018 goals list – all. in. the. same. week.

You guys can relate, right?

While we may feel the need to start tackling everything on our lists the first week of the New Year, it’s actually the small changes we make each day over time that will make the biggest impact in our lives.

It’s more than ok to go slow, to take your time, to be intentional with the things that are most important to you and to grow at your own pace.

Here’s a peek at scenes from our week…

*One of my favorite meals of the year – Southern Style

*A few things I picked up while on vacation and almost every piece is getting a makeover

*Snuggling up by the fire almost every day this week

*Our annual 15 K training has begun

*On my nightstand this month

While we were at the cabin, we found out that someone else is going to love the little white farmhouse we’ve had our eye on for months. It was a total bummer but I know that just means there’s something better out there for us. In the meantime, we’re still on the hunt for inspiration like this fabulous bathroom renovation from the always creative Jenna Sue Design Co.

The Perfect Weekend Breakfast Sandwich

I hope you have a peace filled and happy weekend. There are so many fun things I can’t wait to share with you next week.

Just a quick bit of housekeeping, our plan is to post Monday-Thursday (although I know I’ll be posting some on Fridays as well) as we continue to work with clients and on projects out of town Thursday-Saturday. It definitely takes some extra juggling but I tell ya, there’s nothing like being part of helping to make a house a home. Hello, pinch me, I love this job!

I painted my desk this week and cleaned out my office which has been a huge help in keeping me on track. I just have a few more decorations to take down and the last of the vacation laundry to finish. My goal over the next couple of days it to celebrate a clean slate and to embrace a simple Sunday.

Whatever you have planned, I hope it’s something you’re excited about too.

Until next time, I’ll see you on Instagram, Facebook and Pinterest.

Many blessings,

CoCo

  1. Hey CoCo – Love Brene Brown and actually have that same book! So inspirational. So sorry about your little farmhouse..total bummer. 2 Bees will only be posting 3 days a week now – there is now way we could keep up the schedule any longer and maintain a happy life. LOL. Cheers to a happy weekend!

    1. I’m about half way through the book and it definitely makes you think! We were totally bummed about the little white farmhouse too but we feel at peace knowing something better is on the way. Yeah for putting yourself first and knowing what works best for your schedule. My Thursdays are about to drastically change which is sure to change our Fridays and Saturdays creating quite a bit of white space. High five for knowing your worth 🙂 Hugs, CoCo
