Laundry Room Makeover Reveal
After three long weeks of working on this laundry room makeover, I’m super excited that reveal day is finally here. This was one of those projects that I thought would maybe take a week to complete ha ha! I swear, you guys, in my mind it’s all mapped out and good to go before I even pick up a paintbrush or hammer. On paper, it seems like it will all be totally flawless. But with every DIY goal we complete, I’m definitely learning what it takes to make each piece of a multifaceted project run smoothly.
Just as a reminder, this is how the laundry room started. We made small changes here and there over the years yet nothing really big….
But one fateful day in January, I decided to paint the walls of the pantry in Valspar’s Silver Leaf
which led me to paint the walls of the laundry room in the same color.
That decision led me to repainting the laundry room floors,
replacing the folding station,
the laundry room art,
and finally the light.
The drying rack was a non-negotiable keep.
Since we brought in a lot of wood grain accents with the tobacco stick frames, I asked my dad to add trim to the screen that hides the hot water heater. It was at this point I thought woo hoo I’m done and good to go!
Then at the last minute, I decided to take down the shelf in the laundry room. It just felt too cramped to have it up there for some reason. But taking down the shelf meant we would also have to take down the bar we had been using for our hanging clothes. Thankfully, we found a solution with these hooks.
I’m still trying to decide if I want to get another rug but for now this jute one is working out great.
It feels really good to have the laundry room in working order after being without it for so long. In between soccer games, spring decorating and preparing to spend some time at River Ranch I’ll be using this space quite a bit. Only now, I don’t think I’ll mind it too much.
