Simple Christmas Breakfast Nook

Today, I want to share with you how we created a simple and festive Christmas breakfast nook.

Our breakfast nook is just off the kitchen and overlooks the back two acres of our property. We’ve intentionally left this area largely undeveloped so there are lots of species of birds, marsh bunnies, and turtles that visit us on a daily basis. It’s definitely one of our favorite spots as this area gets lots of sun and it’s a comfortable place to grab a book over lunch or to cozy up and linger over a long breakfast.

As with our Christmas inspired entry, dining room and living room it was the black, white and red fabric we made into a table runner that helped to set the tone for the entire breakfast nook.

Ironically, I found two key pieces for this tablescape on the same day which hardly ever happens. We’ve had this reindeer stashed since October so we were excited to finally be able to use it.

I’ve been eyeing these delicate dishes for a few months and they finally went on sale so I added them to our growing mix of vintage white dishes.

I shared how to make these cranberry letters in yesterday’s post. They were seriously so simple to make and added just the right amount of color to each place setting. They also add a personal touch without a lot of extra fuss…

…kind of like these green velvet napkins. Love!

We picked up a bunch of these floral picks on sale at Michael’s and we’ve literally used them all over the house. I wish we would have bought even more because they feel so real and have been really versatile too.

We usually use these wreaths on each of the windows of the front porch but I thought it would be fun to use one indoors this year.

I don’t know if there’s a limit on how many times you should or should not be using plaid but you guys, I’m obsessed with all things plaid.

We have it all over the house.

The hutch in the breakfast nook was pretty easy to decorate.

I just added pops of red with mostly things we picked up at the grocery store

or at the craft supply store.

We kept things pretty simple at the coffee bar area too.

Simple is our jam this Christmas, you guys and we’re kind of loving it.

I’ll see you back here tomorrow with how we added a bit of Christmas to one of the bedrooms. Until next time, I’ll see you on Instagram, Facebook and Pinterest.

Many blessings,

CoCo
