Spring Inspired Entry

We are super excited to start celebrating all things Spring this week and today, we’re sharing our Spring inspired entry!

The day I took these pictures it was THE perfect Florida day. The temperature was in the low 70s, the sun was shining bright in a cloudless sky and there was a light coastal breeze that was so enticing, I kept the windows open until nightfall.

Every time I open the windows and doors when the coastal winds are blowing our house always smells like a mix of salty marsh and lemongrass. We love citrus candles and burn them all the time. I keep saying we should just plant some citrus trees on our property so we can smell that delicious scent every day. Maybe this year will be the year.

Our house is currently decorated for a vintage inspired Spring and it’s been so much fun to change up all the décor. Spring is one of our favorite seasons and I know it is for so many of you too!

The entry is just inside the front door but because we live in an open concept home you can see multiple rooms from that vantage point. It’s the biggest reason we’re big believers in keeping a consistent color palette for each season.

There is almost always a specific flower or a piece of fabric that inspires our seasonal décor and it’s true for this spring season too. I found this wreath at Michaels a few weeks ago and totally fell in love!

We love, love, love peonies but they don’t grow in our area so we are unabashedly embracing faux peonies this year.

I found this old watering can for $3 at Renninger’s a few years ago

The gray and white buffalo check pillow is from IKEA.

We’re constantly on the hunt for pretty white bed skirts since we use them for the couches on the front porch too. Using white makes them super easy to care for because you can just throw them in the wash and bleach them if you need to.

The burlap sack is actually an old coffee sack we also picked up at Renningers a few years ago.

I love all that tattered fringe.

Most of the time this area is filled with backpacks, purses, flip flops, and bags of goodies I’ll be taking to clients so it’s always fun to see the entry dressed up like this for Spring.

Whenever people ask if our house, “really looks like that,” it gives me the giggles. We have littles that visit and make messes, aging dogs to clean up after, we track in all sorts of dirt from around the property and there are times this entry is filled with furniture waiting to be painted or delivered.

We do make a huge effort to keep things as neat and tidy as we possibly can which means nearly every day we’re sweeping up everything from dirt to dog hair.

Of course, it’s extra work but it’s definitely worth it!

Investing time in your home will always be worth it no matter what the season. You don’t have to do anything fussy or fancy just do the things that make you feel excited about creating a home you love.

See you guys back here tomorrow. We’ll celebrate Spring in the living room! Until next time, I’ll see you on Instagram, Facebook and Pinterest.

Many blessings,

CoCo

    1. Thanks so much, Sarah. It’s taken me about a week or longer to pull everything together and it’s been a lot of fun to put away all the winter items and pull out the spring ones too. I can’t wait to see how you celebrate spring at your house. I know it’s going to be so pretty. Hugs, CoCo

  2. Hey CoCo – We are loving the entryway and the peonies. When we lived in North Carolina we had several bushes that bloomed every year. Their fragrance was like no other – just fabulous! Your front door wreath is beautiful too! Our temps dipped about 30 degrees this weekend but the weather is just gorgeous – not a cloud in the sky! Cheers to planting some citrus trees stat!

    1. That is so awesome you guys! We seriously have to special order them from the florist so to think you guys had them growing on bushes like that is too cool! Big hugs, CoCo

  3. I love your spring entry ideas and your cute dog too CoCo. I used a lot of yellows this year and it makes me feel good the minute I walk through the front door.

  4. Coco,
I love seeing the seasonal changes in your entry – always so pretty! And, of course, the addition of a sweet dog (or cat) makes any room more inviting! It’s nice to see photos of rooms the way we wish they would look all the time – but we all know that we live in our homes and life happens – which means messiness happens – which is real and it’s nice that you always admit “real”! I love that about you 🙂

    1. Oh my gosh, Patty, you always leave me the sweetest messages – thank you so much! I could definitely share some crazy messy stories that happen out here all the time. I am so with you, I love how dogs and cats make our lives so much richer. They are the sweetest gifts every day even when they’re acting a little naughty. Sending you hugs for a happy day, CoCo
