Bathroom Makeover Reveal

We’ve heard it said so many times shop your house first to give your spaces a fresh look.  I wasn’t sure that was always possible but in the past few weeks, I’ve been completely amazed at the “free” transformation.  This bathroom makeover is no exception.  Here are a few quick shots of how the bathroom looked before

The biggest change we decided to make in this space is the paint color.  This is a custom mix of Valspar’s Lamb’s Ear, which is also in the master bathroom and Quail Egg which is the new color in the bedroom and office that share this bathroom.

I hung this picture I found for $10 in Fernandina way before I became a vendor there.

I painted the green mirror with Annie Sloan Chalk Paint in Pure White and add a more distressed appearance with sand paper.

We traded out the burlap container and flowers for an aged metal vase and dried hydrangeas I found a few weeks ago.  We also added scented soaps and grass wrapped bottle.

All of these items combined to create a really serene place to put on make up each morning.

I’ve had this old coffee sack for over a year now and decided to use it as a bath mat in leiu of the old fluffy white one. I’ve loved the layers in this white ruffled shower curtain since the day I bought it so I am happy to keep using it.

Blog reader and friend Sabrena found this chippy chair for me at a yard sale last year for $3.  I’m totally crazy over it too.

My dad hung the curtain rod a little higher for me when he was here visiting.  We traded out the monogrammed burlap curtain for a simple crochet trimmed white curtain.

You may also notice we took down the black crowns and burlap votives that were in the windowsill.  I love this more toned down look so much more.

We didn’t paint the water closet.  It’s painted in Valspar’s Sea Salt and the shade is really close color Quail Egg we chose for the bedroom and office. The insect prints that used to be in this bathroom

have been moved to ledge above the bathtub in the master bathroom.

They were replaced by one of my favorite paintings

My dad wanted know why I was hanging up a painting of a random woman that I had never been acquainted with.  He gives me the giggles.  “How do you know this lady in blue?” he said. “I don’t.” I responded. “Wait a minute here, you’re hanging up a picture of some lady you don’t know!” “Yes, Dad, I think she’s pretty.” The rug is actually an old peanut sack he picked me up a few weeks ago.

It was so much fun to be able to work with my mom to give this space a fresh look.  I love to look back and see how much my style has changed. Here’s another shot of the bathroom before:
