Protea Art Blossoms Campaign
After a summer filled with blistering temperatures and high humidity, fall is a welcome change in Florida. While there is no chill in the air to speak of we’re able to spend longer days at the beach thanks to balmy weather. I love to spend the day by the water with my girlfriends. We take a picnic, read books, search for shells and spend the day laughing. It’s a day of complete relaxation. 
I was thinking about how much I love those days when I was contacted by my friend Lisa of Concord Cottage. She was participating in the Protea Art Blossoms campaign and wanted to know if I would be interested in participating as well. Art Blossoms sponsored by Protea Wines USA is a campaign by women, for women with the goal of encouraging art and sustainability to blossom all over the country. How could I say no? 
It was a happy mail day when I received wine from Protea and instructions about this campaign. The bottles were beautiful. After sharing a bottle of Chenin Blanc with the ladies, I started thinking about how to use these bottles in a different way. I decided to repurpose them as soap dispensers. Here’s a step by step of how to make your own: After the bottle has been emptied, wash with warm water and a mild detergent. Allow the bottle to dry completely. 
Gather supplies including a hot glue gun, a spool of jute, collected shells and a syrup pump.
Carefully apply the glue to the jute using the glue gun and wrap the jute around the neck of the wine bottle. The glue gun and glue will be hot so make sure to use proper safety precautions.
After the jute has been glued to the neck of the bottle use the glue gun to add shell embellishments.
Add your favorite hand soap or dish detergent and insert the pump into the wine bottle.
This is an easy project that can be completed in an afternoon. The ability to empower and encourage other women is a gift of friendship I treasure daily. In fact, my friends Bobbi from Bluwaterlife and Lisa at Concord Cottage participated in this project as well. I love your creativity and creation…wine bottle into a soap dispenser. The twine and shells are a perfect touch and make for a pretty soap bottle that I would use in my kitchen 🙂

How beautiful are these soap dispensers?? What a great idea…and very “beachy”. I’m a bit jealous that you can wander to the sea and stroll. We have Lake Erie….while it can be lovely, it is just not the same as being oceanside. thanks for sharing this lovely post.
