After we moved the bakers rack to create an indoor coffee station, it left the entire area totally bare. I hung up a vintage chalkboard, gave a mini makeover to the Suwannee Sugar Cane Farm sign and the chair at the desk in the kitchen. In one afternoon I was able to complete 3 quick decorative updates in the kitchen and the only thing it cost me was my time.
It’s been rainy and cold in Florida most of the week. I’m getting back to basics in the kitchen making banana bread with chocolate chips. This easy recipe is perfect for rushed mornings or relaxing afternoons.
I’m excited to finally be sharing a piece of painted furniture with you. I painted this console table before Christmas. It seems like a whirlwind now but at the time I couldn’t believe 4 pieces of furniture sold between Thanksgiving and Christmas. I used Annie Sloan Chalk Paint in Duck Egg.

I’ve made a few easy transitions from Christmas décor to winter décor that I wanted to pass along. I know the holiday decorations need to come down but I don’t want to give up the excitement of snuggling up under a warm blanket to read a magazine, having a cup of hot cocoa by the fire or relaxing with popcorn and a movie. I feel like I’m finally getting back into the swing of things on the blog, at home and restocking items at my booth at The Pickers Market. I’ve even started training for a 15K run. I decided to make a scrub that would help kick start my morning routine. This Rise and Shine sugar scrub uses 5 ingredients: grapefruit, orange, clove, oil and sugar.
I decided I was going to have a Lumberjack Party so that I could keep a continuous holiday spirit and celebrate into the New Year.
