It seems so hard to believe that January has almost come and gone. I swear it seems like just yesterday we were yelling “Happy New Year!” One of my favorite things about this month is that after spending extra time with family and friends over the holiday season, January holds a promise of both new adventures and of dreams yet to be realized. Goodbye January, it’s been fun. February, if you’re listening, I can’t wait to see what adventures you have in store for me!
I’ve been tossing around ideas for Valentine’s Day in my head for weeks now. My aunt hosts a Valentine’s party almost every year for our family. She decorates a brown paper sack with our names and puts stickers all over each bag.
The last time I went out shopping was the week before Christmas when I had to find a few extra Santa mugs. Luckily, I found exactly the amount I needed to make sure each guest had one to take home with them. On that same shopping trip I found
One of the goals I have for this year is to get my home more organized and the spaces more functional. I’ve been working toward this goal off and on for several years and I made a lot of progress in 2014. As you can see here, the hall closet really needed to be a priority and I decided to reorganize it for games and craft supplies.
I hope you guys had a happy weekend. I was able to spend it celebrating with my family, which, always feels like the best gift.
So let me just catch you up. I was already low on furniture for the booth when January started. Normally people aren’t buying a lot of furniture in January since most people have spent a good amount of money on Christmas presents. But this month the most awesome thing has happened.
Last Friday, my Mom and I set out for the quaint little town of Mount Dora. If you’ve never been, honestly, it should be on the list of Florida’s hidden treasures. They have amazing restaurants, Lake Dora, lots of antique shops and Renninger’s.
