A Few Finds, No Joke

My furniture stash is completely gone and for the past two weekends I’ve been shopping for new inventory. It takes continued shopping to be able to find great pieces at affordable prices. On my first trip I didn’t find a lot of furniture but I was able to find a few smalls and lots of baskets, which have become a signature item in my booth.

Serendipitously, I went out on St. Patrick’s Day and the very first item I bought was this horseshoe. It was buried at the bottom of a box of old tools. The vintage picnic basket has blue and white ticking fabric on the inside.

I also found this awesome picture. I have no idea who this man is but I love the way he’s sitting at his desk like he means business. The calendar on the wall says 1902. I’m pretty sure this is going to be a keeper.

I love this vintage frame. It has tons of character and I was able to get a great price on it.

I know the cup will be for sale as will the milk glass but the roosters napkin rings may be a little harder to let go of.

I picked up the pillow and the small framed horse print for my mom. You guys know how much I love plaid blankets. This one will be great for picnics. For reals, how crazy is that bulldog aftershave bottle from Avon?

I plan to give both of those stools a makeover but they’re the perfect size to use in my booth to stack things and use for displays. I can totally picture my mom using them in her bathroom with rolled up towels by her big bathtub too. The little red cross box was a fun find but it had some interesting bottles and smells inside. I couldn’t pass this sweet little pillow up either with all that patchwork. It’s hard to believe those pillowcases are still in the original Kleen Wink bag. I used them on my spring inspired front porch.

I pretty much hit the mother lode of baskets.

How cute is this bird perch? It’s already been taken to the booth too.

This huge wood slice is actually a lazy susan. I must have been on a bell kick because I found an old cowbell and a dinner bell on that same shopping trip.

Since most of my customers like coastal items, I try to pick up as many as I can.

That vintage thermos is going to be hard to let go; it’s perfect for picnics or the beach.

The wooden fish has metal fins and the wicker wrapped bottle has a Spanish label.

I was able to score this awesome metal cabinet. I can’t decide if I should paint it or not though. It definitely needed a good cleaning before I took it to the booth.

I picked up a few other things that I haven’t unpacked yet but all in all it was definitely a successful trip.

Many blessings,

CoCo

    1. Girl we could get into so much trouble if we shopped together Angie!

    1. It hardly ever happens this way, Lori, so I was really excited to be able to find so many things in such a short amount of time 🙂

  4. Coco, WOW you did hit the mother load. You found so many great things and I only wish I lived close so I could come to that booth and shop. You are working hard shopping, cleaning painting and styling your booth, so YOU GO GIRL. xo Lisa

  5. You scored a great haul!! We’ve hit a dry streak the last few weeks trying to find stuff for our booth. My dad and I hit 4 yard sales and 3 thrift shops yesterday and the only things we found worth buying were a headboard and 2 watering cans. Such a bummer, but I got to spend the whole day and have lunch with my pops so it definitely wasn’t a wasted day :).

    1. Amy, that sounds like a great day with your dad! I know it’s tough when you need things and you can’t find them so I’m sending you my thoughts and prayers that the right pieces are on there way to you right now. I think with the spring season in full swing now the treasure hunting will get a bit easier. Sending you my hugs for a happy day, Coco

    1. Mila, I love that picture too! There are no marking at all on the back of the photograph so I’m going to have to do a lot of research on it. A small factory owner is a great place to start. Thanks so much for the invite, I can’t wait to check it out. Our Something to Talk About Link Party runs from Monday at 6 am to Thursday at 5 pm EST and we would love to have you link up as well. Hope you had a great weekend, Coco
