Pale Green Sea Glass Inspired Annie Sloan Chalk Painted Dresser

Pale Green Sea Glass Inspired Annie Sloan Chalk Painted Dresser

I was relieved to find this three-drawer dresser at one of my favorite secret shopping spots called The Warehouse. I had a little bit of paint left over from the nine drawer blue sea glass inspired dresser that I had custom mixed using several Annie Sloan Chalk Paints. I used the rest of the custom mix and altered it a bit to achieve a pale shade of mint green colored sea glass.

I found this dresser in early February when I was out shopping at an estate sale with my mom. We almost didn’t get it because there was no room in my car. The pieces I’ve painted in shades of blues and pale greens have been really selling well lately. This sea glass inspired color is a mix of Annie Sloan Chalk Paint Duck Egg, Country Grey and French Linen. It took a few tries to get the color I was after but I’m really happy with this custom combination.

A Display Unit for the Booth

A Display Unit for the Booth

When January found me selling me out of almost every piece of painted furniture I had in the booth I knew I needed to make some changes about the way I kept the booth stocked. Since I don’t have a huge truck or trailer to go to auctions or estate sales and load up on multiple pieces of furniture at once, I asked S to build me a display unit that I could leave in my booth on a permanent basis.

A Few Finds and a Duck Egg Nightstand Makeover

I’ve spent the past few weeks shopping for new inventory items for my booth at The Pickers Market. Restocking a booth is like finding items for your home. It takes a while to capture just the right look you’re after. I found this three-drawer nightstand a few weeks ago. I painted it with two coats of Annie Sloan Chalk Paint in Duck Egg. A lot of my customers have beach cottages or live in condos. I can imagine this nightstand tucked between two iron beds covered with sun-drenched quilts.

I was at the Renninger’s Extravaganza with my Mom when I found out I had a big hole in my booth after one of the dressers had sold. No worries, I had another dresser in my garage waiting to be painted. For this dresser makeover, I used two coats of Annie Sloan Chalk Paint in Country Grey and followed with clear furniture paste wax. All the details were highlighted using Annie Sloan Old White.
