Latest Finds From the Treasure Trail

It was so much fun to be able to hit the treasure trail last week. I have a certain loop around town I try to make on a regular basis. Over time, I’ve come to know the staff at each of these spots and have developed relationships with local businesses which makes shopping even more fun. These relationships have been instrumental in helping to bring fresh merchandise for booth customers and design clients alike.

I’ve really been intentional about the pieces I’m bringing home lately. Especially, now that I’ve been decluttering and purging. It’s not always easy to stay on track when you see so many fun things but these shopping tips help to keep me in check.

This may sound totally crazy but now is a great time to start planning for holiday decorating. I know. It’s so hard to “get in the spirit” when we could easily be eating popsicles and ice cream for breakfast every morning because it’s so hot. You don’t have to do anything major just look through old holiday magazines and revisit your favorite pins on Pinterest for inspiration. Start putting together a vision boards and ideas you can begin working on now so your season is “merry and bright” not “chaotic and crazy.” Plus, it will be fun to have something to look forward to. Here are a few holiday things I found while out last week…

I’ll be using this gray plaid for my fall color scheme this year and

the black and white will be part of my winter color scheme.

How awesome are these plaid pieces? I have a feeling my mom is going to want one of these.

Speaking of which, it’s never too early to start picking up fun Christmas gifts. Someone is going to be super excited to find these wooden shoes under the tree.

A few stores later, I was SHOCKED to find this large selection of horse trophy platters. I’ve never seen so many in one place to be completely honest. Equestrian anything is really hard to find in this area which is why I nearly fell over when one of my favorite places made sure to keep them for me.

See where I’m heading with this?

I also picked up these sweet pieces while I was out. You guys, such.a.soft.spot.for.white!

I’m not really even sure what this is….it’s really heavy and I love the carving so I decided to take a chance on it.

Finally, I picked up this piece of furniture which I painted a beach cottage inspired blue/green color.

You don’t have to be “in the business” to let staff members know what items you’re looking for. I can’t speak for all vendors but I know I offer special discounts and deals for customers that shop my space on a regular basis. We have designers that shop The Pickers Market as well and have developed relationships with most of the vendors. Local customers will also leave notes letting us know if they’re looking for something specific. Ask if there is a similar system at your local antique mall, charity shop or consignment store.

I hope you guys all have happy and relaxing weekend. We have a fun week coming up next week so I’ll see you back here on Monday. Until then, I’ll see you on I’ll see you on Facebook, Pinterest and on Instagram over the weekend.

Many blessings,

CoCo
