Easy DIY Vanity Tray Organizer
We’re sharing a French country inspired easy vanity tray organizer idea today!
Lately, I’ve been having fun experimenting with makeup and skincare products.
And it’s made me realize I need more countertop space in the bathroom so I can spread everything out.
I have a double sink vanity, but the sinks take up most of the countertop space.
So, I took a deep dive into finding a simple solution.
The most obvious choice would be to order a basic over the sink mat online.
But I wanted something pretty.
And something that could be repurposed as a bed tray when needed as well.
So, I combed through my stash of trays in the garage and realized my Mom had already given me the perfect one.
It simply needed a bit of a makeover.
Here’s a look at how to create a French Country inspired easy DIY vanity tray organizer.

Tray Supplies:
- Tray (with sides)
- Paint or Spray Paint (I used Ultra Matte in Perfect Gray)
- Peel and Stick Wallpaper
- Scissors
- Cutting Mat
- Ruler or Measuring Tape
Tray Steps:
Gather your supplies.
Make sure your tray is clean and free from dirt and debris.

Paint your tray in the color of your choice and allow it to dry completely.
I painted this tray with Rust-oleum’s Ultra Matte Spray Paint in Perfect Gray.

Next, use a ruler or measuring tape to measure the inside of your tray

Then using caution and care as scissors will be sharp, cut the peel and stick wallpaper to your desired length.

Apply the peel and stick wallpaper as per the instructions that came with your wallpaper roll.

Be sure to smooth out any bubbles or bumps.

Then allow plenty of time for the wallpaper to properly adhere to your tray before using.
Enjoy!

A Simple Solution
What I love about this French Country Inspired vanity tray is that it was a simple solution.
In fact, I was able to create more countertop space on the bathroom vanity in less than an hour, save for drying time.

Now, I can easily access makeup and skincare products while still having plenty of room for daily bathroom essentials, which ultimately helps to make my morning and evening routines much more efficient.

And while I wouldn’t place a hot cup of anything on this French Country inspired tray without a coaster, I love that it can be used as a bed tray as well.
Honestly, you could even use it as a desk tray or a crafting tray.
Especially, if you have lots of goodies to corral.
