Fall Tablescape

I’ve teamed up with five bloggers I met while at the Haven conference for a month long series celebrating the unofficial arrival of fall.  If you’re visiting from 2 Bees in a Pod welcome! If you’re a regular to this blog and you’re missing Feel Good Friday’s, no worries, we will be back on schedule in October.  When we first started talking about a fall series for September, it gave me the giggles.  As a native Floridian, in September we’re preparing for hurricanes and the mums have yet to bloom.  While the rest of the country takes pride in golden colored leaves and dropping temperatures, we’re still in flip flops and tank tops.  In a sea of pine trees and palmetto bushes the signs of fall can be few and far between.

To help me get in the mood, I brought out all my must haves.  Louis Armstrong belting out “Autumn in New York,” my favorite fall scented candle and the ultimate nod to the season, a Pumpkin Spiced Latte.

I bought these place mats while out shopping one day with my Mom.  As soon as I saw them I knew they would be perfect for a fall tablescape.  I love the warm tones of the sticks held together with a simple piece of jute.

You guys know how much I adore white plates and vintage china in general.  I don’t know if I will ever tire of them.  Swoon.

I picked up these wagons at The Warehouse a few weeks ago. A big shipment of holiday ornaments had just arrived.  I chose these wagons, birds, tree plates and vintage snowflake ornaments.

I bought these garden tool ornaments as well. They remind me that fall is a time of harvest.  The fresh herbs are from my garden.   You can pick up white gift tags just like this at any local craft store.

I really wanted to use items from my home or yard, so I chose these magnolia cuttings for the centerpiece.  If you decide to bring in the outdoors, make sure to clean well.

I’ve been keeping these weathered gourds all summer.  I really want to grow some of my own.  I hear they appreciate sandy soil, which is exactly what I have.

I use these white candles and glass holders all the time.  They’re an easy way to add a bit of ambiance.

Some of my favorite memories have happened around the dinner table.  I wish you guys were here to hang out.  We could visit for hours.

Be sure to check out Bobbi’s fall tablescape at Blu Water Life  tomorrow! She has the heart of an islander.  I’m so excited to see what she has in store.  If you missed any part of the tour this week check out: The Striped HouseConcord Cottage ,The Altered Past and 2 Bees in a Pod. I’ll be in the kitchen next week with a fall recipe for you!
