From the Front Porch

Happy Friday from the front porch, sweet friends. We hope this week has been all that you’ve needed it to be and you’re looking forward to all the good things February has to offer.

A few days ago I read a post that said February is the real start of the new year because we spend most of January just trying to recover from the holidays and get back into the swing of things.

That sentiment certainly rings true for us this year.

Truthfully, I’ll be thankful when we can get on a consistent schedule without all the interruptions and extra distractions so we can finally settle into a solid routine. This week was another week filled with lots of starts and stops and felt like a bit of a rollercoaster.

The good news is we’re in town all weekend for the first time since mid-October of last year which is super exciting.

I have a lot of things I need to catch up on but I’m hoping to squirrel away some time to put up a few Valentine decorations, wrap gifts and fill out a stack of Valentine cards. I also picked up some heart sprinkles to make sugar cookies this weekend which should be fun too.

Whatever you have planned, I hope you find magic in the mundane and an opportunity to enjoy the gift of slow and easy.

  1. Well I’ve never seen anyone stuff bread into their cabinets like that. It was def beautiful but I’d be stuffing cakes in my cabinets. 😉 When I read the 2022 trends and read tone on tone, I was happy. That means white on white is still for me! Even though I don’t actually have a white wall in either of the houses, I can still dream. And I am just waiting to hear someone is having a bad day! Hmmm, that seems questionable but I want to encourage them with a text! or a meal drop off. So fun! Thanks for posting all of these. Oh, and I love Rachel’s style so anything she does is fab. Hope you have a wonderful weekend and get to those Valentine’s gifts. Big hugs

    1. I could take bread or cakes in cabinets any day of the week, Cindy! In fact maybe just skip the text and bring over the loaves and cakes 😆 People are always so creative and I swear the internet never ceases to amaze me. Rachel is definitely a talented lady and I’m glad she shares her talents with us and I feel the same way about you. Sending you hugs for a Happy Valentine’s Day week, CoCo

You need time to nest, bake, cook, and catch up

    1. It’s so bananas Christine! I thought by now I’d be used to it, to be honest. Most of the time it’s totally ok but goodness gracious it can definitely wear you thin sometimes. We had a very productive weekend which has us starting off on the right foot this week, and for that, I am grateful. Hope you had a fabulous weekend too and your Valentine’s Week is off to a great start. Big hugs, CoCo
