Goodbye May, Hello June

It’s hard to believe the unofficial start of summer is already here. It’s been another fun month completing projects on our 2015 house goals list and we have even more to finish this weekend. The biggest progress we made was on the back porch.   We painted the concrete in Valspar’s Ember, gave the farmhouse table a weathered makeover, created a menu board from an old door and made a beast of a swing frame. After all of the changes in the back patio area we also made a change to the front porch when we created this eating area.

Inside the house, I made another batch of homemade laundry soap and the laundry smells better than ever. After two years the indoor drying rack continues to make hanging up unmentionables easier. While I normally keep a coastal vibe for summer decorating this year, I created a cabin inspired summer mantle, an easy summer tablescape and opted for a carefree summer dining room. I love the relaxed feel already.

I’m so excited that berries and cherries are in season. I’ve been in the kitchen baking again and I shared a recipe for white cake with triple berry filling and cream cheese frosting as well as a recipe for fresh cherry cobbler.

Goodbye May, Hello June

I’ve shared so many projects around the house that I’ve barely had time to share what’s been going on with my booth at The Pickers Market. Things are constantly changing which is a good thing. This is a shot of what it looked like at the beginning of May. I’ve sold a lot of smalls and a few big pieces of furniture since then. We’re gearing up for a busy tourist season so I’ll be shopping a lot more in the next few weeks. I’m really trying to clear out my stashes before I bring anything new home. Cleaning out the garage is going to be a big priority for June.

Goodbye May, it’s been fun. June, if you’re listening, I can’t wait to see what adventures you have in store for me!

Many blessings,
