Budget Friendly Morning Skincare Routine

We’re sharing a budget-friendly morning skincare routine today!

My morning skincare routine has evolved over the years.

Especially, since I’ve added more things to my nightly routine like Tretinoin.

Given my age, my main goals are pretty basic.

I want to clean, nourish, hydrate, and protect my skin well so I can age as gracefully as possible.

With that in mind, I thought I would share the simple and budget-friendly morning skincare routine I’ve been using lately.

As always, your healthcare provider or dermatologist will always have the best recommendations for your specific skin type, concerns, and goals.

They will also be able to tell you which ingredients would be the most beneficial for your skin goals, as well as the proper order to use your skincare products, as some ingredients cannot be combined.

I’m not a doctor or a dermatologist.

I’m simply sharing the products that have worked for me as someone with combination skin that leans oily at times, in case they might work for you too.

Here’s a look at my budget-friendly morning skincare routine.

Morning Skincare Routine: Before a Workout

Nearly every morning before I work out, I wash my face with Cetaphil Oil-Removing Foaming Face Wash.

This gives my skin a squeaky-clean feel.

Full disclosure, I also use the Omnilux Red Light Therapy Face Mask and Neck Mask three days a week now that I’m in the maintenance phase.

I started out using it 5 days a week last July.

It took about 6 weeks before I noticed any changes to my face.

After about 6 weeks, though, my pores were smaller, and my skin was brighter and more even.

I haven’t noticed as much change to my neck as I have my face.

The other four days, I use the TheraFace Depuffing Wand.

I got this device as a gift for Christmas and immediately fell in love.

It has both a heating and a cooling setting.

The heat setting encourages lymphatic drainage, skincare product absorption, boosts circulation, and brightens dull skin.

The cool setting helps reduce puffiness, revitalizes tired-looking eyes, and minimizes the appearance of pores.

I love that the size makes it easy to transport, too!

Once I’ve finished using the mask or wand, I use the Medicube Zero Pore Toner Pads and let the ingredients sink in while I’m walking or working out.

I love these pads.

They’re a great size and have definitely helped to change the texture of my face for the better.

On the mornings I’m doing an outdoor workout, I’ll also apply Neutrogena Ultra Sheer Sunscreen with SPF 70.

After a Workout

After I work out, my face is usually sweaty and sticky.

So, I wash my face with e.l.f Holy Hydration Clean Freak Daily Cleanser.

It’s a gel cleanser that’s slightly foaming and formulated with hyaluronic acid to hydrate the skin.

I have no idea how they do it, but it makes your skin feel clean yet hydrated all at the same time.

Next, I apply the Greek & Gorgeous C-Glow Serum.

The serum has a light, almost water-like consistency containing Vitamin C, Ferulic Acid, and Vitamin E.

Full disclosure, it kind of smells like hot dog water.

It also has an expiration date of 3 months, so I keep it in the refrigerator.

That said, I love the way it brightens my skin and hasn’t caused any sensitivity.

After the C-Glow Serum has fully dried, I use e.l.f’s Holy Hydration Eye Cream under my eyes.

This rich and creamy formula contains hyaluronic acid and peptides, which help to nourish, hydrate, and plump the eye area.

It’s also supposed to minimize dark circles, but I haven’t seen any improvement in that area yet.

That said, it’s hydrating and fast-absorbing, which makes it great for layering.

Next, I apply the e.l.f Thirst Burst Drops.

The Thirst Burst Drops are infused with hibiscus complex, niacinamide, and hyaluronic acid to give your skin a hydrated, plump, dewy look without a greasy feel.

Once the Thirst Burst Drops have absorbed, I use e.l.f’s Holy Hydration Moisturizer with SPF 30.

I love the consistency of this moisturizer.

It’s very light and creamy with no white cast from the SPF.

Next, I apply a rosy lip balm.

This balm is great because it adds a soft rosy tint to your lips while keeping them nourished.

Finally, I apply my makeup.

Creating a Simple Routine…

Honestly, the hardest part of this budget-friendly morning skincare routine is waiting for everything to dry and fully absorb.

I love that all the products work together so I have skin that’s clean, nourished, hydrated, and protected because that’s my ultimate goal.

Plus, it’s a simple way to set the foundation for not only your makeup but for a successful day as well.
