Have you guys ever dreamed and schemed and wished for something for SO long… like YEARS…and the day finally arrived where all those dreams would start falling into place and you were actually nervous about it all?

A few weekends ago we sat down to discuss the number of projects coming down the line at our home Journey’s End. At first, it was almost overwhelming trying to figure out how we were going to manage it all. Thankfully, we stopped stressing long enough to realize we’ve come so far already. Here’s a before and after tour of our little Cottage Journey’s End and the projects we’ve completed to date. I’ve also included some shots from the very beginning back to where it all started…questionable camera skills and a decorating “style” that gives me the giggles…
So school has been in session for about a week now, how are you guys holding up? Back to school is a great time to reassess goals and settle into positive habits. After the bed is made and the room has been tidied I like to spritz a room freshener before heading out the door. I’ve tried a few different scents but this one is a favorite. Here’s what you’ll need to make a Lemongrass and Eucalyptus freshener of your own…
I spent a good portion of last Friday, trying to pull together pieces for my booth space. Mostly random items and bits of inventory I’ve picked up over several shopping trips. Styling a booth is kind of like styling your home. It takes multiple pieces that all fit within the same vision in order to pull “the look” off. Thankfully, everything I found at the estate sale fit together with things I’ve been holding onto like this mirror. Here’s a look at the details of our Annie Sloan Chalk Paint Vintage Mirror Frame Makeover…
As I mentioned yesterday, this entire weekend was filled with lots of running around for my other job as a vendor at The Pickers Market. I was so excited to find a media cabinet and a few smalls at the estate sale. I also found this vintage rattan chair. It was beautiful but totally filthy. Here’s a look at revitalizing a rattan chair and a DIY furniture polish recipe….
I was on the phone with one of my sisters the other day talking about getting the littles ready for school. There was one thing in particular she said that caught my attention. Inspired by our conversation about the need to monogram all the things, I decided to find a way to personalize a pair of pillowcases with chalk paint. Here’s what you’ll need in case you want to make a set of your own…
Almost every morning I look forward to an hour filled with devotions, catching up on my favorite blogs, quiet time and a steaming cup of hot coffee. It feels like such a luxury. With the school year about to get in full swing I was looking for a fun way to jazz up our coffee station and these DIY Sharpie Mugs Inspired by the South fit the bill perfectly. Here’s a look at how you can personalize a few coffee mugs of your own…
Any time I see a wooden tray in good condition at a thrift store, estate sale or charity shop, I buy it immediately. We use trays ALL the time. They’re lightweight, easy to clean and the handles make using it for multiple serving options totally fantastic. Here’s how we created a DIY Tea Stain for a Simple Tray Makeover…
I’m so excited to share this thrifted ottoman makeover with you guys today. Let me just tell ya, it was a total DOOZIE! A big thank you to my sweet friend and fellow creative, Kendra of Joy in Our Home for putting together this blog hop.
Just popping in to let you know I’m sharing over at The Painted Drawer for a new series called Tell Us Tuesday today. If you’re not familiar with this series yet, each week, Suzanne has a guest artist answer a few questions and they’re really good! Here’s a bit more from Suzanne about this series…
As I shared last week, I’m definitely starting to feel the pressure to get the house neat, tidy and in order before the fall season begins. We have a few big projects in the works that are going to make things pretty messy around here for a hot minute. As you might have guessed, it’s one thing to be organized and yet it’s a completely different thing to maintain the organizational system you have set in place. The key to making it all work is…simplicity. Here are a few steps to keep in mind when you’re tackling the laundry room…
Is anyone else feeling this major need to purge and organize in record time? It’s so hard to believe the start of school is just a few short weeks away. While the littles are probably excited about new clothes, new friends and new adventures, I know a lot of us are thinking about those last minute goals on the priorities list that still need to be completed. Here are a few tips on how to keep linen closet organized and maintained…
