Crafting Your Best Day & June Goals Video

Today, I’m excited to share you how can easily craft your best day and our June goals video.

I can hardly believe we’re already at the end of June, you guys! It just does not seem possible we’ll be saying goodbye to our mid-year goals and begin preparing for our Fall and Winter goals in just a few short weeks.

Don’t get me wrong, I’m not saying we should skip over the rest of summer at all. In fact, I think we should soak up every drop of summer we possibly can. We should make all the fun memories we can. And take all the random naps we can. We should take all the pictures of our favorite places with our favorite people we can. And cross the most exciting things off our summer bucket list we can.

The lazy days of summer are truly a gift and one we don’t take for granted.

They have afforded us the opportunity to work on a lot of heart things and to reevaluate business things as well. Some of those items were already on my June goals list and some were not. Some were a necessary byproduct of learning how to be a caregiver on the fly. While others were born out of a greater need to embrace grace and rest and what it actually means to slow down and not feel guilty about it.

Full disclosure, I was diagnosed with an anxiety disorder in my early 20s. It has been extremely difficult to talk about the struggle at times because of the circumstances surrounding the diagnosis. I’ve done a lot of work over the years including various levels of therapy that have helped immensely. I continue to be thankful for the easy days and for the hard days too. Even though that time of my life was a painful one, I know it’s a huge part of my story.

It’s one of the reasons I love connecting with people and painting furniture and helping people transform their houses into homes they love. There is something so exciting about the restoration process that makes my heart melt every. single. time.

While I’ve learned how to better manage the anxiety diagnosis over the years, there are definitely seasons I can tell I need to refresh my coping skills and to sharpen the tools in my toolbox so to speak.

Just a few weeks ago, I was working on a meditation and visualization series that completely BLEW-MY-MIND! It was about crafting, “the best day.” I’ll be honest, I thought it was totally, “woo-woo” at first, but I knew I needed to give it a chance.

After about 5 minutes I settled in, embraced the process and I’m so thankful I did. It was super revealing! In this month’s goals video, I’ll share how you can craft your best day as well as the three things you need to do immediately to not only get started but to also follow through.

One of the things I learned from the meditation and visualization exercise was what things were truly important to me. This in turn helped to better understand the things I was willing to say yes to and the things I was willing to say no to which was definitely eye-opening.

The other thing I appreciated about the experience was the gentle reminder we have to be willing to take consistent action-oriented steps – even if the steps seem small at the time – to make the big dreams and goals that have been placed deep within our hearts a reality.

Knowledge alone is not enough.

It’s sort of like wanting to have a clean house every day. So, you decide to read a best-selling book on cleaning and organizing. Until you put the tips and tricks you’ve read about in place – they’re just words on a page. Your actions are what gives those words life.

We all have areas of opportunity where we can create more of what we want in life, we just have to decide we can – we have know we’re worth the effort – we have to take action.

Taking action is where the magic happens.

So, what does your best day look like? What does it feel like? How are you showing up for yourself and the people you care about? How can you love people well? What are you willing to commit to taking action on right now, today? What situation do you need to quit waiting to be perfect before deciding you’re worth the hard work and effort it’s going to take to make your goals and dreams a reality? What limiting beliefs are you holding on to that you need to let go of? What do you need to do to push through the fear and step out in faith?

The truth is, we’re all just a few decisions away from being what we were created to be, at any given time.

And if your days create your life, today is the best day to get started.

Until next time, I’ll see you on Instagram, Facebook and Pinterest.

Many blessings,

CoCo

  3. I so appreciated this post and your honesty, CoCo. And, most of all, sharing a tool that we can use to relax, be calm and focus. I will be back to really look at it again!

I, too, have been under treatment for anxiety, depression and panic disorder, for a very long time. I no longer have a problem with saying it, if the moment is necessary. With the most recent suicides of people everyone knows and made us shocked and in disbelief, perhaps if we all spoke up, or shared our issues with loved ones, we’d have a better support system.

Sending a big hug and prayers for healing—all of us!
