From the Front Porch: A December to Remember
Hello from the front porch, sweet friends, and welcome to the December to Remember edition of this weekly series.
Thanks so much for spending time with us today.
How has your week been?
Yesterday, I was standing in line with both arms full of gift-wrapping supplies.
It was one of those, “I’ll just run in really quickly and finish this errand then be on to my next appointment,” kind of situations.
But I grossly miscalculated how many people would be in the store in the middle of the day.
Espcially, given it was a random Thursday.
Also, it never occurred to me there would only be one cashier.
By the time I got to my next appointment, I was so rushed, I barely sat down before they called my name.
And while everything went well, I couldn’t help but wonder why I had even put myself in that position in the first place.
The thing I realized in that moment though is how important it is to name the season you’re in because once we name the season, we can name what matters most and once we name what matters most, we can name our priorities and once we name our priorities we can create a blueprint to guide our approach.
So, as we begin a month that’s filled with holiday hustle and bustle, I encourage you to name your season.
It might be a season of healing, joy, abundance, grace, divine favor, growth, opportunity, connection, harvest, rest, reflection, planting or hopeful expectation.
No matter what word you choose, allow it to bring you clarity, to sharpen your focus, to reduce your frustration, and refine your strategy.
That way, you’ll save time, build resilience, and feel supported when you need it most.
As always, I’ll be cheering you on.

What a wonderful Thanksgiving it sounds like you had! Sweet time with family is the best. I love the collection of links you have going too. I will be back tomorrow to check more of them out.
We had a great time, Michelle! I hope you did too. It really felt good just to slow down and enjoy each other. I had NO idea kids moved around so much though ha ha. The littles were constantly dancing or singing or jumping around. It’s definitely official after this weekend, all Moms are rock stars 🙂 Hope you find the links helpful. Heading over to see what you’ve been up to! Hugs, CoCo
Thanks for another week of great inspiration. Beautiful ideas!
CoCo,
There’s so much to love here! I haven’t gone all the way through, but so far, it’s the Edith Wharton quote (she’s one of my favorite authors and designers!), the Downton-Abbey inspired Christmas decor, and the plate wreath. I always always look forward to getting your newsletter with all the fabulous links. So fun!
Thanks for all your hard work! And I hope your bestie recovers fully soon.
Hugs,
LeAnne
Great post. Thank you for sharing my mantel. I appreciate you so much.
I am going back to look at your links but first I wanted to share my thoughts (before I forget). Couldn’t agree more with naming your season to focus on your priorities. This season is all about “rest and reducing stress”. Mr. SLH and I had most of our shopping done before Thanksgiving. I want to be able to slow down and not feel hurried. I also want to not be stressed financially with last minute gifts.
Also, on a different note. Can I tell you how thankful I am for your post on high protein breakfast ideas that don’t involve eggs??
Ok off to read the rest of your post!
I loved your idea to try and define priorities this month. It’s so easy to get overwhelmed by all the different things to be done. This year I am trying to intentionally do less, while prioritizing people and connection. So yes, a little less decor and baking, but hopefully a more meaningful and joyous holiday season! Thank you for the encouragement!!
