From the Front Porch

Happy Friday from the front porch!

We hope your week has been a good one. Thanks so much for making us part of your day.

I’m headed to get my 2nd vaccination shot this morning and while I’m a bit nervous about it, I’m thankful we’re one step closer in the fight against the pandemic.

Most of my friends and family members have already been vaccinated and were super sweet to share their experiences. I’ve stocked up on all the essentials they suggested and feel pretty set for a quiet weekend!

In other news, for those of you that have been following along on the guest bedroom makeover, you may remember I mentioned this cabinet in last weeks From the Front Porch post.

After measuring several times, we’ve determined it’s too big for the space we had planned by 3 inches and I am SO bummed.

The good news is that I have a few “backup” ideas. The bad news is because I pretty much dreamed up the entire bedroom around the cabinet, I feel like I’m back to square one as far as furniture placement goes which will definitely make for an interesting few weeks ?‍♀️

Watching This Week…

Earlier this month, Marian of Miss Mustard Seed recommended Bunny Williams: Not a House but a Home on PBS and it was really good.  Bunny Williams definitely has a style more modern than my own but I really appreciated all the design and life lessons she shared.

If you’re unable to watch the video in your area, here’s a post from Veranda with all the details.

Our May Book of the Month is called Sacred Rest and it is rocking my world! Have you taken the online quiz yet?

I’m still trying to process everything but I was SHOCKED at my results and have way more work to do than I originally thought.

This book has been my favorite book of all the books we’ve read so far this year and I hope it encourages you to take a look at how you can reset things in your own life too!

On a side note, this is how 95% of the photoshoots have gone since bringing our rescue Piper home in March ?

    1. So sweet and kind of you to say, Maria, thank you! I really appreciate it. These posts are always a lot of fun to put together. Sacred Rest without a doubt has changed me as a person. 2. Beth Miller says:

There was a lot of great information on this blog to help improve my life. Just took the test and am awaiting my results. Thanks for sharing! I really appreciate it!

    1. So happy to hear this, Beth, thank you! I was shocked when I took the test and honestly so was my accountability partner. It’s like I knew I was on the edge of burn out but I had no idea my scores would be so high in some areas. It definitely gives me a lot of work on but I’m thankful to have a game plan now and I hope it will help you too. Sending you hugs and cheering you on, CoCo

  3. Sorry that cabinet is too big. I would be thr one measuring and measuring looking for a different result.

You’ll find something I’m sure of it.

    Piper sure is cute.

    Have a great weekend!

    Cindy

    1. I know, Cindy! I am so bummed. I was trying all sorts of different angles to get that piece to fit. There are two doors that flank the space the cabinet needs to be on so even an inch off would cause the doors not to shut. My Mom is headed to look for something we might be able to use in her area and my aunts are going to look in their areas too. I know the perfect piece for us is out there, we just need to find it. Big hugs and thanks for all your encouragement, CoCo

    1. Thanks so much, Paula! I think everything went well. I was super tired, had a sore arm, and felt achy all over but it was totally doable and much better than I expected it to be. Sending you hugs and hoping your weekend was peace-filled too. Hugs, CoCo

  4. Oh my goodness! Piper is just a doll in every photo! Can’t wait to check out that rest quiz! I’m totally intrigued now! Thank you as always for compiling so much amazing inspiration and helpful tips! Love reading this post every week!

    1. That rest quiz was such an eye-opener, Christine! It’s like I knew I had things to work on but my scores were bananas. I’m still thankful I took it though, despite the shock. At least now I can get my game plan together and embrace a new way of life. Sending you hugs and thank yous for supporting these Friday post, CoCo
