Home Office Accessories on a Budget

I’ve mentioned on several occasions I was in the process of a home office makeover prior to leaving for the bloggers conference, Haven. I had great intentions. I was all fired up and on a mission. I started by clearing everything out of the room.

As you can imagine it took up my entire morning and let me tell you, I’m an early riser.  It was at this point that I was getting really frustrated.   The kind of frustrated that makes you second-guess why you started the project in the first place.  Do you guys ever have that kind of frustration? I gave myself a break and ate lunch.  Surely, that was what I needed to help me power through to the neat and tidy finish line.  But after a few failed attempts at arranging the furniture by myself I walked out the door. I left the mess and took myself shopping for decorative accessories.

It was nice to get out of the house and recharge a bit. If you remember the decorating instructions for this space scared me a little. No white. No chippy. No flowers. Nothing girlie – all things I love. Say what! Add to that a tight budget and I’ve got a serious challenge on my hands.

Here are a few budget friendly accessories I found on the treasure hunt:

As soon as I saw the mountains on these shot glasses turned paperweights, I knew they were coming home with me. They were $1 each.

At less than $5 this piece of natural stone was perfect.

See this set of turkeys? They’re actually vintage Avon bottles. I know. I’m thinking double duty – inexpensive bookends.

This walking stick makes me think about all the fun hikes we’ve been on.

Blarney Castle

It was at great price too. Check out the tag.

Of course, I had to figure out a way to add some pottery to the mix. This one has a fantastic pattern and I love the neutral color.

Veramonte Chile

Since every space needs a little bit of whimsy, I picked up this sign for the gallery wall at a whopping 50 cents. It’s perfect for someone that has been labeled “slower than molasses.’

I still have to work on the credenza and create simple storage solutions but it’s getting there. I hope each of you have a happy weekend. See you back here with a new post on Monday and over the weekend on Instagram.

Many blessing,

CoCo

Thrifting is my therapy too. I can’t wait to see what you do with all of these finds. My favorite is the tennis racket and the wooden sign from the good ol state of NC. So very cute!

    1. I picked up that tennis racket for $4.99! I love the little sign from NC too. I hope I can find a place for it!

  3. I get soooo frustrated when I try to clean our “guest room”, AKA the room where I hoard my craft supplies and random purchases. I’m actually cleaning it out this Friday…wish me luck!!
