Goodbye November, Hello December

I can’t believe, I just wrote that…Hello December. Has this year flown by at warp speed or what!

This month’s blog posts were dedicated to the time and preparation that goes into making Thanksgiving such an awesome event. Our family is currently tucked into Loblolly Manor for the first time in 26 years and it feels so nice to be able to kick off the holiday season at this home we’ve loved so much. It’s one of the smallest homes we’ve ever lived in but it was the last place we were all living under one roof before the military moved us to Texas and changed our lives forever.

There was a lot of behind the scenes work like building a coffee table, a dining room table, painting several pieces of furniture and recovering more chairs than I would ever like to see again. I’ll be sharing all of the details with you after the holidays. We got most of big items on the to do list finished in time but truth be told we’ll have to adjust some things before we gather together in just a few short weeks to celebrate Christmas. It’s been another fun month filled with lots of coffee and adventures. Here’s a quick look back at what made this month such a special one…

My parents host a lot of guests especially during the busy summer months. My mom gave me her best tips on How to Make Overnight Guest Feel Welcome and How to Make a Cozy Guest Bed so I could share it with you.

I shared easy to make hostess gifts with a Homemade Pumpkin Bread Recipe and a Free Bread Wrapper Printable and an easy to make Pumpkin Spice Sugar Scrub too.

It took A LOT of convincing to get me to do this Happy Thanksgiving video. I think I said the words, “No way, I’m too fat” like a hundred times but I wanted you to hear how truly thankful I am for each and every one of you.

I was kind of worried when my post How to Get Pet Prints Off Windows went live because I didn’t want you guys to think I was totally gross. But as it turns out, you were amazing and it’s a more common problem with pet owners than I thought it was. Thanks for being awesome by the way.

I didn’t do a lot of shopping for furniture and accessories this month because I’ve been getting ready for Christmas at the booth at the Pickers Market. I’ll need to head out to find a few pieces of furniture soon because this French Linen Painted Dresser I painted a few weeks ago sold. I’ll share more of what it looks like all dolled up for the season next week.

Thanks to my mom’s help my little cottage on the island is decorated for Christmas. It is going to feel so nice to walk through the front door and have everything ready and waiting on me to start celebrating. It was fun to take a look back at last year’s Neutral Inspired Christmas Ideas. It makes me giggle to see how much I’ve changed and how much my photography skills have changed too. I was so glad to get a new camera for Christmas last year. It feels like a gift every day. It was also a lot of fun to participate in the DIY Ornament Blog Hop with 16 other bloggers. The Easy Coastal Inspired Ornaments were simple to make.

I can’t wait to show you guys all the Christmas projects I’ve been working on so far this season. Goodbye November, it’s been fun. December if you’re listing, I can’t wait to see what adventures you have in store for me.

I hope you guys all had a safe and loving Thanksgiving weekend. See you back here on Monday for the Something to Talk About Link Party and on Tuesday for the 2015 Christmas Home Tour Blog Hop.

Many blessings,
CoCo
