Goodbye January, Hello February

One month down. Eleven to go.

Can you guys believe we’re almost to the end of January? Me either! The older I get the more I realize, time is moving at warp speed. It’s making me very aware of how I spend my time and what I chose to give priority in my life. We started the month off with my Word of the Year, 2016 Home Goals and 2016 Goals for The Goat.

I’ve been stealing a bit of time from my schedule to really declutter the house this month. I swear, if I never have the chance put up one planked wall this year, my goal is to make the house more functional and for each item to have a home. I started with my closet and I’m proud to say it still looks this organized.

After I finished my closet I started working to organize the kitchen and the pantry. It was a long process that stalled a bit while I dealt with a mix of pneumonia and bronchitis. I’m very thankful for wellness baskets and being taken care of so well. I’m definitely not 100% but my family is super awesome and they’ve helped me rally.

My bestie S helped me change the look of the pantry with built in drawers for party supplies. This pantry makeover is one of definitely my favorite projects we’ve ever completed. Once the kitchen and pantry was organized it made me want to clean everything. These 7 Time Saving Tips have helped the kitchen stay tidy all day.

It was so much fun to take a look back at the projects we completed over the holidays at Loblolly Manor. Now you know why I napped so much while on vacation ha ha. The dining room went through the biggest change with the French Linen Buffet and the Restoration Hardware Inspired Tabletop that was a fun project to work on with my dad.

The living room also got an update with these Lucketts Green Painted Chairs and the Coffee Table made from reclaimed wood and a frame S found on the side of the road.

My booth at The Pickers Market also got an update, which made the entire space feel fresh. It was so much fun to work along my mom again and make it all happen.

012916-10

We started the new series What’s on My Nightstand? with a review of the book, The Life Changing Magic of Tidying Up

012916-11

and the series called …With My Sisters where we shared our best tips for family friendly meal planning.

012916-12

Finally, we worked with a great company called Royal Design Studios to change the look of the dining room by stenciling a set of curtains. I’m totally in love.

It’s been a great month filled with a mix of work, rest and birthday celebrations. Here are a few of my favorite pictures from Instagram this month.

Goodbye January, it’s been fun. February, if you’re listening, I can’t wait to see what adventures you have in store for me!

We have some awesome things planned next month that I can’t wait to share with you from candle making with my sisters, to furniture makeovers, to winter nesting ideas, organizing the kitchen’s meal planning station, how to dye drop cloths, the new book on my nightstand, Valentine’s Day ideas and my latest obsession – all things citrus.

See you on Facebook, on Instagram and on Pinterest over the weekend and back here on Monday for the Something to Talk About Link Party!

Many blessings,

CoCo

  1. You accomplished so much in January, even with being under the weather! Your closet looks fantastic! A closet clean out and organizing spree is on my list for February. Getting dressed in the morning is so much easier when everything is nicely organized : )

Hope you have a great weekend!

    1. I’m totally with you, Jamie! I never realized it but I kept wearing the same outfits over and over again because I couldn’t find anything in my closet. This closet clean out has definitely made me appreciate both my clothes and accessories too. I can’t wait to see how your closet comes together. I love what you’ve organized so far! Hugs, CoCo
