Over the years, we’ve learned what styles work best in this little cottage and slowly room by room things are starting to take shape. A few years ago, a fellow blogger recommended a book about decorating with white. I swear it was like a light went off and that one book changed everything. Here’s a peek at what’s on my nightstand…
You guys, I can’t even believe we’re already at week 3 of the One Room Challenge! I’ve heard so many previous participants say week 3 is the hardest week and now I know why. You’ve been working like a total crazy pants living and breathing this project for weeks…you’re so close to being done…but you are tired…SO SO SO tired. Here’s a look at the progress we’re making in week 3…
For the past few years, we’ve worked together as a family to make 5 different houses feel like home completing a wide range of DIY projects along the way. It hasn’t always been easy but we’ve learned how to appreciate what each family member brings to the table and that has made completing projects so much easier. Here’s a few things to keep in mind when you’re tackling DIY projects and home makeovers with your family…
As you guys know, my Dad built a set of custom bookcases for the office makeover I’m doing as a guest participant for the One Room Challenge. He’s a really talented guy so I knew he could handle it, no problem. Well, he delivered them last week and imagine by surprise when they almost reached my 9 feet ceilings. It’s been an incredibly busy week working on projects related to my home office makeover and the One Room Challenge but I’m really excited to give you a progress update today. Here’s a quick look at the office before…
I need a separate desk area even though we have plans to build a work island in the office. The hutch offers a generous amount of space for office supplies, a laptop and monitor so as far as I can tell it’s going to be a great piece. There’s just one thing I need to work out…here’s a look at the desk and hutch makeover.
A few weeks ago I was out shopping looking for a dresser I could use for office storage. After not finding anything at multiple stores over multiple trips, I had resigned to repurposing the existing file cabinets. Until, I saw this piece…
We’ve been spending a lot of time working on my home office for the One Room Challenge. While I loved the soft green color the walls were previously painted in, it’s definitely time for a change. Here’s a look at painting textured walls and using an accent wall to make a big statement…
I can’t believe it’s time for the One Room Challenge! I’ve been dreaming and scheming about being a guest participant for this series for months. A few years ago, we transitioned one of the bedrooms into my home office. At the time, I was so excited to have space to spread out. I have big plans to give this hard working space a brand new start and leave my storage unit ways behind…
Right off the guest bedroom at River Ranch is the guest bathroom. We replaced the floors, spray painted the light fixtures, painted the mirror and created a color palate of crisp whites, shades of blues and pops of yellow to complete this bathroom makeover. Here’s a look at how all of the details came together…
A few weeks ago I spent a good part of the week working on the River Ranch project. The house is a retreat space right on the water and it needed everything from sleeping pillows for the bedroom makeovers to furniture in every room. It’s been so much fun to create a comfortable space for the family to enjoy and while we still have things on our list to finish, it’s all starting to come together…
