Simple Cleaning Routines & Free Printables

I know a lot of us will be headed back to school and work this week so I thought it would be a perfect time to share The Busy Girl’s Guide to Simple Cleaning Routines. I used to be able to set one full day aside to clean the house from top to bottom but those days are long gone. I still like to keep a tidy house though so I found a way to get the housework completed while still living a full life. Here’s a peek at the simple cleaning routine that changed everything…

  • 2017 Home Goals

Today I’m sharing a look at our 2017 Home Goals and let me tell ya, the list is lofty! We used to make a long list of the various projects around the house we wanted to complete each year. It was sort of like a running to-do list that never seemed to shorten despite working late nights and long weekends. We could physically see the progress we were making on each task but sometimes we just needed a big picture reminder of where we were going, you know what I mean? Here’s a peek at how we’re pulling our 2017 Home Goals together….

  • Word of the Year

Happy New Year! You guys, 2017 is going to be our best year yet and I’m so excited about that for us! Last week, I mentioned for the past few years I’ve chosen a “word of the year.” It’s a one-word reminder of the goals that I’m working towards and the values I want to live by. • 2016: A Year in Review

As I write this post the Christmas lights are still flickering on the tree and the entire house is quiet save for the sound of the washing machine. Being able to write in the early morning hours with a steaming cup of coffee and quiet reflection feel like stolen moments of luxury. It’s my favorite way to start the day. Nature Inspired Christmas Breakfast Nook

One of my favorite parts about having people over for dinner is the simple act of gathering around the table to share a meal. I know that may seem kind of old fashioned but it’s true. Over the years, I’ve come to realize it’s in those moments gathered around the table where so many amazing things happen. Here’s a peek at how we created a Nature Inspired Christmas Breakfast Nook…

Nature Inspired Mantel and Christmas Tree

Remember yesterday when I told you guys that we had an open floor plan? Well if you walked through the front door and looked straight ahead, you would see our mantel. Every time I decorate the mantel not just for Christmas but literally for each season, I think about our carpenter. At just over 7 feet long, it’s one of my favorite features in the entire house. Here’s a peek at our Nature Inspired Mantel and Christmas Tree…

Simple Christmas Decorations for the Dining Room

As I mentioned on the Christmas Front Porch Tour yesterday, we chose our color palette and theme “Heaven and Nature Sing” early in the fall so I knew all of the spaces would have as much greenery as they could possibly have. This year, we decided to add greenery to the chandelier in the dining room and once we did that it was like everything else fell into place. Welcome to a Simple Christmas in the Dining Room…
