Christmas at The Pickers Market

This weekend is always a busy weekend in the town of Fernandina Beach. It’s the weekend of the cookie tour of homes. Each year, the homes on the tour are dressed with holiday décor from floor to ceiling and a signature cookie complete with recipe card is given out at each stop. It’s definitely something to put on this season’s to do list because it’s always so much fun. In addition to the cookie tour, it’s also the holiday open house at the Pickers Market. We’ll have lots of food, drinks and shopping surprises.

This is the third year I’ve been at The Pickers Market during the season. Looking back at the pictures of my booth space is a little like looking back at my style at home. You can definitely tell how much things have changed from one year to the next.

I was so busy trying to get Loblolly Manor ready for all of us to visit at Thanksgiving I hardly had time to shop for holiday merchandise. I’m hoping to have one last push to get the house completely finished save for the laundry room before we all come back for Christmas break. We’ll have to finish the laundry room in 2016 because of the barn door installation. You guys know my dad…he likes to make everything from scratch.

I’m also hoping to make one last big furniture haul to my booth in December before we leave for vacation. It’s been so hard to find good pieces of furniture to paint at reasonable prices lately but I’m hopeful I’ll be able to get it all restocked before December is out. I have big changes planned for the whole operation in 2016 so I’m in the midst of trying to decide when to roll new inventory out and when to liquidate things that have been in this space a while. Here’s a look at what’s been happening in my booth lately…

This old ironing board would make an awesome bar or makeshift buffet if you have a small dining room or breakfast area.

S built me this piece early last year it’s really nice to be able to display so many things on at one time.

It’s a little hard to tell because I have it standing up but this was part of an old display from a grocery store.

I think I’m ready for this stand to come back home with me. I thinking I may put it in my office to hold the overhead projector.

This tree is covered with neutral ornaments I’ve picked up throughout the year.

Remember the coastal inspired ornaments I made for the DIY Ornament Blog Hop? A few of them have already sold.

That angel was one of my favorite holiday finds. I think “sing a joyful noise” every time I see it.

This picnic basket became a vintage baking station with the apron, rolling pin and holiday cake molds. I’m making one at home too. I’ll have it ready for you next week.

I’m on a search for another light too. This one is going in the master bathroom in 2016. It actually works out for the best. I realize every time I look at pictures of the booth, I need more light. I seriously appreciate editing software when I do these posts he he.
