From the Front Porch: Goodbye March, Hello April

Hello from the front porch sweet friends and welcome to the Goodbye March, Hello April edition of this weekly series.

Thanks so much for being here and for spending time with us today.

How are you?

It’s been gorgeous in Florida lately which has me itching to start a few outdoor porch and patio projects especially since March has been mostly about tying up loose ends for us.

In fact, as I was writing this post, I had to look back at my notes because it’s been such a whirlwind at times I couldn’t remember all the things we celebrated.

It’s one of the biggest reasons I’m such a proponent of writing things down.

We always think we’re going to remember and then life happens, and we forget!

Thankfully, there were plenty of notes to remind me how we spent our time this month.

Things like participating in a family meal train, eating gumbo and King Cake on Fat Tuesday, preparing our hearts and home for Lent (I gave up procrastination and gah what was I thinking ), cheering on my aunt as she continues chemo treatments and my Mom as she recovers from surgery, watching the stranded astronauts come home, all the green things on St Patrick’s Day, spending the day treasure hunting with my Mom, finding the coolest piece of wall art at one of my favorite little antique stores downtown, progress on the construction at Loblolly, a new purposeful living challenge, and taking care of loose ends from quarter one which honestly feels like exactly what we needed.

March was such a great reminder of how we can hold space for what we want to do as well as those things we need to do.

So, as we look forward to all the exiting things coming our way in April, I encourage you to wrap up any loose ends you might have as well.

That way, you can start a new quarter, a fresh month and the spring season on your own terms.

  1. Recently found your site and love it. It is a calming and positive spot during these scary times. Loved your white tulips in the crocks so I picked up a couple bunches and greens when I did my biweekly shopping trip and they cheer me up every time I see them. I’ve sent pictures of them to friends and family to cheer them up too. Thanks for sharing so many wonderful ideas,

    1. That is such a sweet and creative idea, Loretta! It’s hard to know how to best handle everything because it’s changing all the time but I can definitely see how sharing a virtual bouquet would brighten someone’s day no matter what the situation. It’s so important to reach out and stay in touch with each other. We’re glad to have you here and I really appreciate your kind words. Let me know if you need anything! I hope you and your family are all safe and well. Hugs, CoCo

The homes you shared are beautiful. They are all beautiful but the first one from Jane Martin Designs was a favorite.

I miss treasure hunting with my mom. Enjoy every second with your parents.

    1. ha ha I know, Susan! Every day I’m like why did I have to pick this? It’s so stinking hard! But last year I gave up “expectations” because I struggle with perfectionism. While it was a beast to get through at the time, it was also a game changer and I’m thankful I stuck with it because it really helped to change my outlook and perspective on so many things. Sending you hugs and thank you for always leaving the sweetest comments, CoCo
