From the Front Porch

Happy Friday from the front porch.  As one of my girlfriends put it, what a year this week has been ?

How are you guys holding up?

While I wish it was under different circumstances, it’s been great to hear from so many of you via direct message on Instagram and email.

I know we’re all in different situations given we all live in different states and countries but it’s been really cool to see how everyone is checking in from around the world.

This week was the first week since we’ve been self isolating and social distancing that I literally have no idea where the time has gone.

Do you feel like that too?

A lot of you shared this was the first full week of home schooling for you so I know you understand what it’s like to have lots of extra distractions. ?

I’m hoping to be able to set up a makeshift office in one of the bedrooms because I think that will definitely help.

I also had the chance to see my parents for the first time in over a month and that helped too.

My Dad was super sweet to locate some much needed groceries for us.  We haven’t been able to get meat, beans, eggs, bread or flour in our area for about 10 days.

I swear I’ve never been so excited to see a carton of eggs in my entire life ?

My Mom was set to host Easter events for several of her lady groups before they got canceled. So, while I was picking up the groceries from my Dad, I snapped a few photos of their dining room table all dressed up for the season.

This month we’ve been reading The Next Right Thing: A Simple, Soulful Practice for Making Life Decisions  (Amazon Affiliate Link) and it couldn’t have come at a better time to be honest.

I’ve been using it as a devotional each morning and it honestly couldn’t have come at a better time in both my personal and professional life.

In April, we’ll be starting Rhythms of Renewal: Trading Stress and Anxiety for a Life of Peace and Purpose by Rebecca Lyons

  1. Recently found your site and love it. It is a calming and positive spot during these scary times. Loved your white tulips in the crocks so I picked up a couple bunches and greens when I did my biweekly shopping trip and they cheer me up every time I see them. I’ve sent pictures of them to friends and family to cheer them up too. Thanks for sharing so many wonderful ideas,

    1. That is such a sweet and creative idea, Loretta! It’s hard to know how to best handle everything because it’s changing all the time but I can definitely see how sharing a virtual bouquet would brighten someone’s day no matter what the situation. It’s so important to reach out and stay in touch with each other. We’re glad to have you here and I really appreciate your kind words. Let me know if you need anything! I hope you and your family are all safe and well. Hugs, CoCo
