From the Front Porch

Happy Thursday from the front porch, you guys!

Popping in early today as we gear up to commemorate Good Friday and celebrate all the festivities that come with the Easter holiday weekend.

My sister is hosting her annual Saturday Mourning breakfast for our pod Saturday, and following church on Sunday afternoon, we’re planning a fun egg hunt for my parents and the littles.  I can barely contain my excitement thinking about my Dad hunting eggs ?

While the pandemic restrictions in our counties have expired we’re definitely still taking precautions as if they were still in place until we’re all vaccinated.  Thankfully, all our activities are outdoor activities including dining!

I have just a few more eggs to stuff, a couple of cakes to make, and a basket to put together for Piper and then we’ll be good to go.

I know a lot of you weren’t able to see your families last year either so if you plan on hosting or traveling, I hope your time together is richly blessed.

If you’re grieving a loved one or can’t be with family and friends right now for whatever reason, I’m keeping you in my thoughts and prayers. I know it’s not always easy to navigate the holidays during seasons of loss so I’ll definitely be lifting you up.

Words to Live By…

Listening to This Week…

One of my Mom’s favorite songs is Hallelujah written by Leonard Cohen and performed by so many fabulous artists over the years.

This week she found an Easter version that walks you through the death, burial, and resurrection of Christ I had never heard before. It’s sung by a sister duo and they sound really pretty together.

Watching This Week…

Audrey: More Than an Icon

I watched this on Netflix last weekend and it was SO good and yet so heartbreaking all at the same time.  I was literally searching for tissues by the end – what an inspirational life!

In case you missed it, our last 2 books were a lot to process so we’re choosing this short read, The Four Agreements, plus a home décor book. I chose Patina Homes but since it doesn’t come out until late April, I’m pretty sure Home Stories will be in my Easter basket ?

You can find our most recent list of home decor books coming out here and last year’s book of the month list here.

TCG Housekeeping Notes & Upcoming Posts…

I’m almost finished with the April posting calendar but if there is something specific you want to see this month, please let me know.  So far, I’ve gotten multiple requests for organization, how to put together kitchen vignettes, easy decorating ideas, and transitioning from spring to summer.

We’ve also gotten several requests to darken the font/content on our blog posts, which we have completed. I’ve already tried it on several different devices (android and ios) and it seems to be ok but I have an old phone so please let me know if you see any changes.

That’s all for now!

As always, we appreciate you so much and we hope your holiday weekend is peace-filled and relaxing.  We can’t wait to share even more with you next week!

Until next time, I’ll see you on Instagram, Facebook and Pinterest.

Many blessings,
