From the Front Porch

Happy Friday from the front porch! We hope your week has been peace filled and productive.  Thanks so much for making us part of your day!

This week has been such a blessing I feel like I need to pinch myself already ?

Since our last From the Front Porch post we hosted my Mom’s family birthday party on Thursday, traveled to the Renninger’s Extravaganza to celebrate our birthdays on Friday, shopped the bookstore, found some goodies at IKEA and celebrated with lunch on Saturday. 

I had my family birthday dinner on Sunday night and enjoyed a “favorite things” themed birthday celebration on Wednesday. 

It’s been a whirlwind week and I’m behind on everything but I’m incredibly grateful for all the different ways we got to spend time together making memories.

I just finished this book and it was SO good! If you’ve been reading along, I hope you’re enjoying it too.  I seriously could have highlighted the entire book ?

For February, we’ll be reading The Compound Effect by Darren Hardy. It has fabulous reviews so I’m excited to dive into this one as well.  

Podcast We Loved This Week…

 Atomic Habits with James Clear is like listening a bite size version of his bestselling book! It was a great reminder and motivation to finish out January strong with positive habit building tasks like the 2-minute rule.

On the Menu this Week…

I ate SO MANY sweets last week because of our birthday celebrations so I’m hoping to get back on track with a healthier menu this week!

*On a side note, we mostly eat lean poultry, fish and plant-based meat alternatives which you’ll see reflected in our menu plan each week.  That said, there are some recipes you might be able to substitute plant-based products, turkey or chicken with beef or pork so be sure to check the recipe!
