From the Front Porch

Happy Friday from the front porch and thanks so much for all your sweet messages!

I wouldn’t say I’m 100% back to normal but I’m feeling so. much. better. this week than I felt last week after struggling with food poisoning.

While there are still foods and drinks I previously loved that I currently have zero appetite for and I’m sticking to small bland-ish meals, every little bit of progress in the right direction feels like a major win at this point, so I’ll take it!

I’m spending most of the morning baking cookies and sweet treats for a family celebration my parents are hosting at Bliss Barracks this weekend.

It will be the first time in over a year I’ve seen most of my Dad’s family and my parents have spent lots of time making sure our reunion is a safe and special one.

I’ll be honest, our April book of the month, The Four Agreements, was hard to get through in the beginning because the language was really dense and totally woo-woo.  That said, it does get better so hang in there if you’re just getting started!

I’ve also been reading, Home Stories and I love it! It’s been one of the best home decor books I’ve read in a while.

I ordered Patina Homes way back in March and it was supposed to be released on April 20. According to Alexa though, the book is not scheduled to arrive until mid-May now which seems weird. Have any of you had this issue?

May Book of the Month…

Our May Book of the Month is called Sacred Rest and honestly, it couldn’t be more timely.  Especially, since it seems like burnout is more prevalent now than it has ever been thanks to the pandemic.
