From the Front Porch

Happy Thursday from the front porch you guys. How was your week?

Are you guys ready to celebrate Labor Day this weekend? We’re definitely excited about having a few extra days to relax and we hope you are too!

We spent most of the week working on projects related to the entry and trying to come up with a game plan for the front porch. It’s one of our favorite spaces but we’re losing several flower beds worth of roses due to fungus (we think) on each side of the porch so we’ve been troubleshooting various plant options.

Right now, there are little piles or bits and pieces of projects all over the house that are driving us bananas, but it does feel like we’re making some progress.

Speaking of progress, we’ve been trialing leaving our sweet pup Filbie home alone for a couple hours at a time as he continues to adjust to new medications and regain his strength. He sleeps a lot in the morning, so it feels good to be able to run to breakfast or to pick up something at the store fairly quickly if we need to.

Scenes from our week…

My mom picked these plates up for me a few weeks ago and I can’t wait to use them for a Fall tablescape.

I found this fabulous plaid blanket in our signature colors that’s inspiring all kinds of Fall ideas.

I’m not sure if this piece of ironstone is a chamber pot or if it’s meant for something else, but I couldn’t pass it up. Do you guys know what it was used for by chance? I think it’s the metal handle that’s confusing me.

Speaking of which, can we just talk about these vintage linens? I’m hoping to give them a good soak this weekend because they’re just too pretty not to use.

I hope you all have a peace filled and happy weekend. We have a great week coming up next week. I finished painting the bench for the entry and fingers crossed the chandelier we ordered will be here tomorrow. There are still a couple things that need to be figured out, but it finally feels like things are coming together which is exciting.

I’m hoping to run to town later today to pick up a few things for Fall and to scope out the mum situation at the plant nursery. I’m also laser focused on trying to get the rest of the house put back together and in top shape before the long weekend.

It’s Labor Day weekend in the States so we’ll be taking Monday off and using the weekend to spend time with our families and friends. Whatever you have planned I hope it’s something you’re excited about too. I can’t wait to see you back here on Tuesday.  Until next time, I’ll see you on Instagram, Facebook and Pinterest.

Many blessings,

CoCo

  1. I love everything on your board today Coco. It really feels like my style but I’m going to check out the post you suggested just to be sure. Thanks and have a great weekend.

    1. Thank you so much, Sarah, I appreciate it! I checked my style too and you probably won’t be surprise at the answer – farmhouse all the way. I’m glad she talked about how it takes practice to find your style and how she had overdone it in the beginning trying to be a “designer” – super relatable, you know? Happy weekend, CoCo
