From the Front Porch

Happy Thursday from the front porch you guys. How was your week? I hope it’s been a good one for you.

We’ve spent a good part of the week, like a lot of you, watching, waiting and checking on our friends and family in the path of Hurricane Florence. After going through Hurricane Irma last year, we know how stress filled it can be waiting for the storm to arrive, to pass and then to deal with the aftermath.

We’re definitely keeping everyone in the path of the storm in our prayers.

We continue to finish up projects around the house and to make a concerted effort to enjoy all things Fall. I’ve come to realize there will always be projects to complete and plans that keep us busy and we if we don’t start controlling our schedules, our schedules are going to control us.

I know it’s not always easy but sometimes you just have to set your priorities on activities that fill your cup and keep finding ways to do more of the things that make you happy, you know?

Scenes from our week…

Remember last week how I shared we were supposed to get 20 strands of crystals for the chandelier in the entry but there were only 19 in the box? Well, the company sent us the missing strand and we are officially good to go as far as the chandelier is concerned.

I usually stick to the brown and white transferware patterns that I currently collect but this piece was too good to pass up.

Speaking of which, I picked up these lamps last week while I was out shopping with my Mom and I’m thinking about painting them but haven’t decided on a color just yet.

I’ve only painted a few pieces of furniture using Miss Mustard Seed Milk Paint, so fingers crossed I can bring my Granny’s old dresser back to life. I plan to work on it later today.

I hope you all have a peace filled and happy weekend. We have a great week coming up next week. As I shared above I plan to work on my Granny’s dresser today and then we have a big birthday to celebrate with one of the littles later tonight.

I can’t even believe I’m saying this but on Saturday we’ll be meeting with fellow creatives, antique shopping, taking a calligraphy class and listening to seasoned business owners sharing all sorts of fun stuff including,

are you ready?…

…I could seriously cry just thinking about it…

…Nora Murphy.

I know.

This weekend is going to be such a dream come true! Everything came together so serendipitously I don’t even know where to begin. I’ll try to grab some pictures if I haven’t fainted or cried all my makeup off or get carted off for too much fan girling by the staff ha ha.

Whatever you have planned I hope it’s something you’re excited about too. I can’t wait to see you back here on Monday. Until next time, I’ll see you on Instagram, Facebook and Pinterest.

Many blessings,

CoCo
