From the Front Porch

Happy Thursday from the front porch you guys! We hope this week has been joy filled despite the feeling of jet lag I suspect we’re all feeling from the time change.

How are you guys holding up?

As I’ve shared before my sweet little Jelly Bean no longer sleeps through the night so it’s definitely been a week of adjustments. Well, for most of us anyway…

It’s also been a bittersweet week personally as we celebrated the anniversary of my grandparents passing yesterday.  Even now it’s so hard to believe they passed within days of each other.

Truly, there’s no way we could have ever imagined all the lessons of grief and grace we’ve experience since they’ve been gone.  But every time I long to hear my Granny laugh again or to hear her sing loud and off key in church or to make us her famous blackberry doobie, I count it is an amazing blessing we even had them at all.

Scenes from our week…

I’ve done my best to stay laser focused this week and to get things done. I’ve even started time blocking again which has been super helpful.  S has just a few more back up things to run on my old computer and then I’ll be able to use the new one.  Shopping for a new computer felt slightly like shopping for a new car – talk about way too many options and way too many acronyms ?

While I was spraying painting a few pieces earlier this week for Tuesday’s blog post, I decided to spray paint these things too.  They weren’t dry enough for me to use them in the final post but I think they turned out well.  The little flower pot will be used in the Bliss Barracks Lanai Makeover and the chairs are going in the breakfast nook at my house.  I have my eye on the prettiest ruffled seat cushions now too.

Speaking of blog posts, here’s a sneak peek at a project we’re working on for the dining room. Fingers crossed my vision will come out in real life like it is in my head and we’ll have it ready by Monday.

It hasn’t been all work this week though, how gorgeous are these?

52 Weeks to a Simplified & Organized Home Challenge

If you’re part of our 52 Weeks to a Simplified and Organized Home Challenge,  we’re completing Week 11, Organizing the Master Bedroom Closet and Accessories and looking forward to Week 12, Master Bedroom Drawers.

I hope you all have a peace filled and happy weekend.  I have just a few tax related things to wrap up this week, I need to finish the dining room, haul a few things to Bliss Barracks and fit in a decluttering session so I can enjoy the weekend.

Later tonight we’re headed to my middle sister and brother in laws house to celebrate National Pi Day with all sorts of fun goodies.  My brother in law recently had surgery on his knee and is also on crutches so he and S have been swapping war stories ha ha.

Whatever you have planned I hope it’s something you’re excited about too.  I can’t wait to see you back here next week. Until next time, I’ll see you on Instagram, Facebook and Pinterest.

Many blessings,

CoCo

  1. You have the most fantastic posts, CoCo! So much goodness to se and learn. You have me in a furniture painting mood, I was big on chairs awhile ago as they are so versatile in so many spaces simply to hold a basket of flowers dried flowers or a stack of books. I also checked out some of your recipes. Thanks for all of the links!

  2. Another great week Coco. Ilove all the pasrels for Easter, the house tours and the recipes this week too.

  3. Hey CoCo – we know all too well about grief and longing. Plus a bit about stress, anxiety and worry. It’s so hard losing the people we love…but they taught us about love in the first place. You were so very fortunate to have such a sweet grandmother. Your memories will last a lifetime. Much love!
