From the Front Porch: Red, White and You Summer Reset Edition
Hello from the front porch, sweet friends.
Welcome to the Red, White, and You Edition of this weekly series.
I hope the start of your summer season has been all that you’ve needed it to be so far, and you’re looking forward to all the good things July has to offer.
How are you?
We’ve been leaning into the sweet rhythms of summer, and it’s been the biggest blessing.
And while the days have been full, it’s been amazing to use this month to focus on things we’ve kept on the back burner for far too long.
One of my favorite quotes from bestselling author Robin Sharma is, “What you focus on grows, what you think about expands, and what you dwell upon determines your destiny.”
I come back to it often.
So, if this year hasn’t unfolded the way you had imagined, or if you feel behind on your goals and dreams, now is the perfect time to release what no longer fits so you can make room for what matters most.
After all, a mid‑year reset doesn’t have to be dramatic — unless you want it to be.
It can simply be a quiet moment to pause, reflect, and realign your habits, health, heart, and home.
Tiny steps add up.
They always do.
And the beauty of a midyear reset is that it allows us to begin again on our own terms.
Gently.
Slowly.
Intentionally.
You don’t need a new year, a new month, or a perfect moment.
You simply need a willingness to choose differently — one situation at a time, one moment of clarity at a time, one small action at a time, and one act of kindness and grace at a time.
Never forget, you are worth the investment, no matter how long it takes.
As always, I’m cheering you on.

Good morning Coco,
I love from the Front Porch. I always make myself a hot chocolate and take my time reading this post. I click back and forth to links, book mark articles and enjoy all that you put into this post and page.
I did hot yoga 6 days a week for 6 years, then we moved and for the last 2 years I have hard a hard time finding my “exercise.” I haven’t found a studio that I like as much as my old one, and much like you have been struggling. Then something “clicked” and I joined a new gym and my only objective it to get their daily.
Good luck with the house and your studies.
THANK YOU for being an inspiration!
I’m so curious what your daily workout routine includes. I am down about 5 pounds, but I still have 35 to make my goal. Since I retired last week, I’m going to kick it into gear!😀
Coco,
I’m so glad you gave yourself permission to take time off. I’m hoping to let the blog take care of itself for at least the week of the 4th. Thank you for sharing my Dollar tree pillow.
Thank you so much for sharing your healthy shopping list ideas. I am already using a few of these items and definitely want to check out even more of them. Also, great job on achieving your fitness goal, keep up the great work!!
I love this, CoCo! It’s so good to hear from you but also to know that you are taking care of yourself this summer. Blessings to you!

Summer is my favorite season. The long days, the abundance of fresh produce, fire flies, outdoor markets, sandals and more… I love your idea of investing in ourselves. Sometimes, we don’t even know what we need until we slow down. Right now, I would love an afternoon in the garden reading a book. Thank you for sharing my no sew flag garland! Thank you for always taking care of your readers.
Great links! I am about to dive in to the shopping links. They look great! I am also saving one of the posts you shared about recreating a 90s summer. I think some of those ideas will be fun when my granddaughter comes to stay with us in a few weeks. Thanks for all the ideas!
