From the Front Porch: September Reset Edition

Happy Thursday from the front porch sweet friends and welcome to the September Reset edition of this weekly series.

If you’ve had a chance to look over our Word of the Month post, you know we chose the words Refresh and Renew for September.

So, late last week we decided to kick off the month a little early by spending time with our calendars, getting dressed up for dinner and attending a candlelight concert.

Truth be told, when we finally arrived at the venue, we were all a little bleary eyed from an incredibly hectic week.

One where it seemed like everyone needed help at the same time and we couldn’t put out the proverbial fires fast enough.

Honestly, we were so tired, I wondered if we should cancel altogether.

But over the years, I’ve realized the things we feel like we don’t have time for are usually the things we need the most.

And as we settled into our seats and the string quartet started playing some of our favorite Adele songs while hundreds of candles danced softly in the night, I knew we were exactly where we were meant to be.

So, as we move forward into the month, I encourage you to make space for the things that bring you peace.

It might be a decluttered house, organized drawers, simple meals, coffee dates, a new workout routine, finding a game day outfit you want to wear on repeat, diving into a new book, refreshing a room in your home, or searching for glimmers each day.

No matter what goal you choose, let this month be one where you’re fully present, resting in the sweet spot between appreciating where you are and being encouraged by where you want to be.

Because there is so much joy in the journey, and I don’t want you to miss a single second.

As always, I’ll be cheering you on.
