From the Front Porch

Happy Friday from the Front Porch, sweet friends!

If you had a chance to read last week’s From the Front Porch post, you know we’re officially marking the final day of my Mom’s 10-day “Celebration of 70” birthday festivities today!

My family and I have had so much fun showering her with lots of extra love and surprises. She’s such a great person and we are beyond blessed to have her as our mom.

I haven’t had a chance to go through all the photos from our trip to Savannah yet but this one of my Mom has been my favorite so far.

We were eating dinner at Elizabeth’s on 37th and I literally stopped to remind myself to remember this exact moment.

She just looked so beautiful and the dining experience was amazing!

We’ll be taking the rest of the weekend off to celebrate my birthday and then I’m hoping to carve out some time to get back on track.

I’m definitely going to miss our morning walks, the small cafes, slow sips of cappuccino, the huge oak trees, the cobblestone streets, trying not to laugh while wearing drugstore sheet masks, and lingering over so many amazing dinners.

The past few months have been tons of fun and yet a total whirlwind all at the same time.

While I’m not quite ready to return to reality, I know Monday will be here soon so I plan to soak up every ounce of this birthday weekend I possibly can.

Whatever you have planned, I hope it’s a special one too!

This week I got to the chapter with The New Anthem in it and gosh, it’s going to feel super awkward to follow through but I’m definitely going to give it a go.

This book has already helped me in so many ways, I’m going to be sad when it’s over!

    1. Thank you, Christine! We had a great time being together and it was fun to get away to celebrate my Mom. It’s hard to believe this was our first trip out of town with just the 4 of us – ever. As far as what it takes to keep our family close, I hope I NEVER make it look easy. We’re constantly communicating, clarifying, forgiving, offering grace and giving each other space as needed. It’s a lot of work but the effort is definitely worth it. Sending you lots of hugs and wishing we lived closer, CoCo
