Easy Greeting Card Organization Ideas
We’re sharing easy greeting card organization ideas today!
At the beginning of each month, I go through my calendar and make a note of upcoming birthdays and special occasions.
That way, I can order gifts and pick up cards at the same time.
This system works well because it gives us something to look forward to and allows plenty of lead time if someone has a unique gift request.
Recently, I found the perfect card for my brother-in-law in a museum gift shop.
And once I got home, I added it to our card basket.
While the card basket has served us well over the years, adding it to the pile made me realize we needed a better way to organize our greeting cards.
After all, the birthday card for my brother-in-law is going to sit in the basket for several months.
So, I searched Amazon for a simple solution and found a variety of ways to keep birthday and special occasion cards organized.
Here’s a look at quick and easy ways to organize greeting cards….

Quick and Easy Greeting Card Organization Supplies:
- Metal Greeting Card Organizer Box (have and *mostly love* this oganizer box. I say mostly because as you can see from the photos shown throughout I ordered the terrazo blush and it arrived as more of a dusty blue/gray than blush. The only reason I’m keeping it is because it happily reminds me of the floors in my late Granny’s house.)
- Tabbed Special Occasion Dividers (have and *mostly love*, several of the tabs were bent upon arrival)
- All Occasion Assortment Box (this box comes fully stocked with 100 assorted cards)
- Cloth Greeting Card Organizer Box (sorts your cards by the occasion as opposed to the month)
- Clear Greeting Card Organizer Box (allows you to label and customize each tab)
- Greeting Card Organizer Book (a space saving option if you don’t have room in a cabinet)
Quick and Easy Greeting Card Organization Ideas:
First and foremost, there are typically two different ways to organize greeting cards, by the month and by the occasion.
Given we use a monthly system already, I chose this greeting card organizer because it comes with monthly tab dividers and an additional option to purchase tabbed special occasion dividers.
This allows us to continue shopping for individual specialty cards while keeping back up cards organized as well.
If you typically send cards by the occasion and don’t have a lot of extra time to shop though, this greeting card assortment box might be a better option for you.
Everything you need (save for stamps and a pen) is already organized in one box.
That said, if you have a specific way you want to organize an existing greeting card stash, you might want to consider this option.
It comes with dividers and self-stick labels.
Finally, if you don’t have a lot of extra space in a cabinet to store a greeting card organizer box, consider using a greeting card organizer book.
It’s streamlined enough to be placed in a desk drawer and can help you keep track of special occasion dates throughout the year.
Things to Keep in Mind…
Keep in mind, if you’re trying to stay organized having a designated place for your greeting cards will help save you time each month.
You can also keep stamps and a pen in the box to make things even easier if you have room.
In addition, using the contacts list in your phone is another way to save time.
And you can add a reminder to your calendar or ask Alexa to remind you to send your card too.
Practical Solutions for Everyday Life…
Cards are such a simple way to let someone know you care.
I look for them everywhere from cute boutiques to the supermarket to gift shops and online stores as well.
You truly never know what someone is going through from day to day.
So, it’s nice to have an assortment of greeting cards on hand.
Like a lot of you, we’re constantly looking for practical solutions that make our everyday lives better.
And I’m excited to finally have a way to stay on top of special occasions, declutter the card basket, and to save time during the year.
I hope this quick and easy way to organize greeting cards helps you too!

This looks like an excellent way to stay organized! I love all of your organization and planning tips!
Such a sweet thing to say, Susan, thank you. It’s definitely where my hearts been lately as far as posting goes. Sending you hugs and hoping your week is a happy one, CoCo PS: Thank you for your email, I’ve missed the Tuesday Tip Sheet too.
Coco- This is such a great idea. I’m always stocking up on cards in advance because if I wait until the event itself- I never have time to buy cards.
Right now I have them stashed in a try and informally organized by event.
This is a much more practical and organized way to store them.
Thank you for making our lives more organized!
Hugs
Anna
I love this idea CoCo, my grandma was big in sending cards for every occasion. She gave me a stack of birthday cards, and then when we cleared out her home, I inherited more cards. I like to send them to friends and family, especially at Christmastime. Right now, they are in a large envelope she gave them to me in, and I need a way to better organize them. There are masculine and feminine cards, along with a few sympathy cards. Nice way to grab them as you need them and save time later, you are so clever!
