My Favorite Podcasts

I’m sharing my favorite podcasts on iTunes and YouTube today!

One of the questions I get asked regularly is how I manage to stay so positive and encouraging.

While I’ve always been a fairly optimistic person, the truth is that I get down in the dumps just like everyone else.

As an introvert with an anxiety disorder, I can very easily get caught up in my own head.

Especially if something doesn’t work out the way I thought it would.

Or if something unexpected comes up and I’m forced to pivot without feeling prepared.

I could literally talk myself into anything and out of everything!

Customizing Your Toolbox…

Over the years, I’ve learned which tools in my toolbox are most helpful, and I work to saturate my heart and home with those resources.

Things like…beautifully organized and clutter-free cozy spaces, morning quiet time, self-development books, seminars, retreats, encouraging friends and family members, uplifting spiritual practices, and maintaining a positive mindset.

They’re all an integral part of my daily life.

Given that our thoughts turn into feelings and our feelings turn into action (or inaction), I know firsthand how important it is to be aware of our thoughts and feelings at any given time.

After all, our thoughts become our reality!

I used to make time for my favorite podcasts on my commute to work.

Now that I’m no longer driving into the office as much, I’ve had to find other ways to listen to my favorites.

Most of the time, I listen to a podcast during a morning walk, on lunch break, while cleaning the house, folding laundry, or taking a bath.

Depending on who you listen to, podcasts and motivational YouTube channels can instantly lift your mood and help you see things in a fresh way.

My Favorite Podcasts on iTunes…

The School of Self-Image with Tonya Leigh

Master Life Coach, Tonya Leigh, helps women transform their lives by elevating their mindset, style, and surroundings to create an extraordinary self-image.

The School of Self-Image with Tonya Leigh episodes are 30 minutes or less.

They’re encouraging and insightful.

I’ve been listening for almost 3 years now, and I glean little nuggets all the time.

I prefer to listen to her podcasts while I walk, but she also has a School of Self-Image YouTube channel here.

The Lazy Genius Podcast

Best-selling author, Kendra Adachi helps you be a “genius about the things that matter and lazy about things that don’t.”

Episodes of The Lazy Genius Podcast are easy to listen to and totally relatable.

The New Happy

If you are truly short on time or need a quick pep talk, you’ll love The New Happy podcast.

The episodes take just a few minutes to listen to and help you find more peace, joy, happiness, and purpose in your life.

Favorite YouTube Channel Podcasts…

The Mel Robbins Podcast

Mel Robbins is the creator and host of The Mel Robbins Podcast, one of the most successful podcasts in the world. She is a New York Times bestselling author and is known globally for “practical tools on mindset and behavior change.”

I share her podcast episodes and books all the time.

She also has a big sister vibe who isn’t afraid to ask the questions most people are thinking.

Plus, her guests are insightful and share tips and tricks that are not only relatable but also applicable.

Apsire with Emma Grede

I first learned about Apsire with Emma Grede from the Mel Robbins podcast.

Her podcast is great because she “unpacks the habits, philosophy, and strategies, covering career advice, well-being, psychology, and business advice” from some of the most successful entrepreneurs and thought leaders of our time.

I love that she doesn’t shy away from her humble beginnings and what it really takes to make your dreams come true.

Thrive with Rossi

I can’t remember how I came across Thrive with Rossi on YouTube, but I love her faith-based motivational content.

Her channel is dedicated to “empowering women to upgrade their mindset and mission in order to build a thriving life in Christ.”

She’s another great one to watch when you need a pep talk or any time you feel stuck.

The Jefferson Fisher Podcast

Jefferson Fisher is another expert I found through Mel Robbins.

He’s a best-selling author and lawyer who “helps people argue less so they can talk more.”

His style is relatable, and his tips are always on point.

I’ve learned so much about the art of communication from his videos.

The Pivot Podcast

If you love sports, you’ll love The Pivot Podcast.

Former NFL superstars Ryan Clark, Channing Crowder, and Fred Taylor ask thoughtful and insightful questions in each interview.

While they can definitely get a little salty at times, I love how they allow each guest to be themselves, no matter if they’re sharing a difficult experience or their faith journey.

Plus, they’re mental health advocates and remind us each episode that it’s never too late to pivot.

Other YouTube Channel Podcasts to Explore…

  • Good Hang with Amy Poehler (celebrities share stories about their careers, and what makes them laugh)
  • Tamsen Fadal (perimenopause, menopause, reinvention, and wellness)
  • Metabolism and Menopause Podcast (teaching women about how their bodies change so they can finally reach their health and fitness goals)
  • Craig Groeschel (faith-based personal and practical coaching lessons that take the mystery out of leadership)
  • Jay Shetty Podcast (conversations and workshops designed to make you happier, healthier, and more healed)
  • The Diary of a CEO (interviews with the world’s most successful entrepreneurs and experts)

Podcasts are a great way to gain fresh perspectives and create mindset shifts that last.

Investing in yourself is not always easy.

It definitely takes effort.

But the transformation is always worth it.
