From the Front Porch

Happy Thursday from the front porch you guys! How was your week? We hope it finds you ready to enjoy a long weekend as we celebrate Memorial Day and unofficially kick off the beginning of summer.

This week has been a great week this week as we prep for the office makeover, a wild weekend and gear up for a summer sabbatical of sorts.

On Dad Duty

As I shared last Thursday, we’ve all been on “Dad Duty” while my Mom is in Israel and it’s been so much fun.  We promised her we would diligently look after my Dad since it’s only been a little over a month since he had a heart attack.

He has the personality of Rambo and Clint Eastwood since he was in the military for 45 years. So, when he agreed to meet us at an arcade for games and bowling, we were all shocked.  My middle sister challenged us to a motorbike race and my brother in law sent us this picture.

My Dad normally hates crowds but as you can see, he was totally into it ?

He’s been out of town this week and we miss our dates with him each night already!

TCG Behind the Scenes

While I was out looking for office inspiration, I spotted these fabulous horse photos!

I plan to use them on the bookcases or on a cool art ledge once we’re able to get the board and batten installed.

At the same antique store, I spotted this gorgeous bed! Can you even imagine sleeping there?

Finally, and this is probably the most important thing in this post, we celebrated S being officially off crutches and bilateral braces.  She broke one leg in multiple places and tore all the ligaments and tendons in the other leg last October which caused her to spend months in a wheelchair, so this is a HUGE deal for us!

S will still have to keep the crutches and braces in the car for the times she has to navigate uneven terrain. Consequently, we won’t be skiing, hiking or going to be beach for a few more months either. But it feels like the biggest blessing to be on the other side of what has been a pretty crazy and difficult year.

From her shoulder surgery last May to the leg surgery in October, I seriously can’t thank you guys enough for all your love and support! It’s been a wild ride to say the least.

TCG Upcoming Posts & Updates

I hope you all have a peace filled and happy weekend. Our schedule this weekend is going to be bananas but in the best possible way. Tomorrow, I’ll travel down to watch my sweet nephew graduate from elementary school and to welcome my Mom home from Israel.

Saturday, I’ll drive back down to watch my niece in her dance recital. Then travel with my family to our hometown a few hours away to see three of my cousins graduate from high school.  Sunday we’ll all meet for dinner to celebrate my nephew’s graduation.

On Monday, we plan to commemorate Memorial Day and to officially kick off the summer season. Sometime during all these activities, I’m hoping to meet up with my Dad. He’s offered to cut the wood so we can start installing the board and batten in my office early next week.  There are tons of things coming down the pipeline this summer.  I’m itching to use my office before things get too squirrely!

Whatever you have planned I hope it’s something you’re excited about too.  I can’t wait to see you back here next week. Until next time, I’ll see you on Instagram, Facebook and Pinterest.

Many blessings,

CoCo
