How to Make a Faux Flower Arrangement That Looks Like Fresh Flowers

We’re sharing how to make a faux flower arrangement that looks like fresh flowers with easy steps to create realistic artificial floral displays.

One of my favorite things about embracing seasonal changes is giving the spaces in our home a fresh feel.

Pillow covers, linens, books, vignettes, and wall art are all great ways to update things.

But there’s just something about flowers that helps turn our houses into homes.

While my preference will always be fresh flowers, we live about 45 minutes from the nearest flower market.

So, I often have to get creative with a mix of real touch flowers and fresh greenery from our yard.

Recently, I was updating one of our bathrooms and created a simple arrangement that could be easily used all over the house.

Here’s a look at how to make a faux flower arrangement that looks like fresh flowers.

How to Make a Faux Flower Arrangement That Looks Like Fresh Flowers

Faux Flower Arrangement Supplies:

  • Flower Container (we purchase this one at the flower market)
  • Real Touch Flowers (we purchased these 9 stems from Michaels)
  • Greenery (we clipped this greenery from our yard)
  • Wire Cutters
  • Scissors
  • Waterproof Glue (we used All Weather E6000)
  • Water

Faux Flower Arrangement Steps:

Gather your supplies and make sure your work surface is clean.

Then, using caution and care since wire cutters can be sharp, cut your floral stems to your desired size.

A good rule of thumb is about a length and a half of the size of your container.

Next, remove the product tags.

I also removed the faux flower leaves since I plan to use real greenery from our yard.

Once all the faux flower stems have been cut to size, add a dot of waterproof glue to the bottom of the stem.

This will help seal the metal in your faux flower stem and keep it from rusting.

I used All Weather E-6000 since I had it on hand, but you can also use Gorilla Glue.

Allow the waterproof glue to dry as directed in the manufacturer’s instructions.

My instructions said to allow at least 24 hours to dry.

Once the waterproof glue has dried and cured properly, add 1-2 inches of water to your container.

Then arrange your faux flower stems.

Finally, add a bit of greenery, if desired.

And enjoy!

Creating Realistic Displays…

What I love about this simple arrangement is that the flowers truly do look real.

In addition, this size container can easily be used in a bathroom, on a nightstand, on a desk, kitchen table, as part of a vignette, or even on a breakfast tray.

Plus, once the waterproof glue dries on the faux flower stems, this arrangement takes mere minutes to make.
