The Itch to Paint

I’ve had the serious itch to paint lately. I think I’ve had too much time away from my brushes. Or maybe it’s the “no lifting anything over 5 lbs” that makes me feel even more rebellious. Whatever the reason, I spent the other day painting a few new projects.

I picked up this wooden rocking horse several months ago.  I love old rocking horses because they remind me of my Dad.  Every time I see one, my heart melts a little.  I gave this rocking horse a coat of Miss Mustard Seed Milk Paint followed by a light sanding and finished with dark paste wax.

At first, I was thinking about taking it to the booth. But as soon as I finished it, I knew it had found a home in my office.

I also painted this tool bench using the same color milk paint.

I loved the way it turned out with all that chippy goodness.

I brought it to the booth this past weekend.  It was a hard one to let go.  It’s totally my farmhouse cottage style.

Late last week, I bought this dresser in a panic.  I could tell from daily sales emails my booth was starting to look pretty sparse.  Sometimes, I go out shopping and come home empty handed. I had no idea if I was going to be able to find any furniture but I knew I needed something pretty quickly. I headed to this secret spot I call The Warehouse.

Luckily, this dresser was waiting on me.  I was able to transform it with a few coats of Annie Sloan Chalk Paint.  We delivered it to The Pickers Market this past weekend as well.

I still have a table, china hutch, tall dresser and cabinet all waiting to be painted in the garage.   It’s going to be a busy few days but I am so excited to be painting again!

Many blessings,

CoCo

I love it all especially the work bench. I have never used milk paint before so it is on my list of must tries. Beautiful work.

    1. Renee, I’ve used chalk paint for so long it’s like second nature so branching into milk paint has been relatively new for me. I’m still getting used to it but so far it’s been a great alternative and keeps my skills challenged 🙂

  2. Oooh, I love the tool bench! What a great piece! Glad you’re getting to paint again. Hugs!

I’m so glad you kept the precious rocking horse for yourself. An adorable addition to your decor.

    1. Vicki, you’re totally the president of my fan club. Thank you for all of your sweet comments. The milk paint has at times been a challenge but I’m definitely up for it 🙂
