Quick and Easy Glitter Ornaments
We’re sharing how to make quick and easy glitter ornaments as we team up with the ladies of the Handcrafted Society Blog Hop today!
One of my favorite things to do each season is to make a few ornaments for our tree.
The beauty is that they’re never too involved or time consuming.
Truly, you can do most of them while watching a holiday movie or a football game.
When I saw our theme for this month’s Handcrafted Society Blog Hop was glitter or foil, I couldn’t wait to officially kick off holiday crafting season.
While I personally love things that are shiny, sparkly, jeweled and glittered, not everyone in my household feels that way.
Especially about glitter.
So, to bridge the gap and compromise, I’m using paper for these quick and easy glitter ornaments.
Here’s a look at how to make quick and easy glitter ornaments…
Glitter Ornament Supplies:
- Wooden Ornaments
- Glitter Paper
- Scissors
- Pencil
- Glue
- Glue Brush
- Embellishments
- Ribbon
Glitter Ornament Steps:
Gather your quick and easy glitter ornament supplies and make sure your worksurface is clean and free from dust.
First, choose a glitter paper color that goes with your holiday décor.
Next, flip the paper over, place your wooden ornament on top and use a pencil to trace around your ornament.
Then using caution and care as scissors will be sharp, cut out the silhouette of the ornament.
Apply glue to the wooden ornament.
Then place the glitter paper on top of the ornament and allow the glue to dry completely.
Remember to poke a hole in the top of your quick and easy glitter ornament for a ribbon.
The holes are pretty small so keep that in mind when you’re picking out ribbon.
Once the glitter paper is secured to your wooden ornament and you have your ribbon in place, add embellishments with glue if desired.
You can make it as simple or as festive as you like!
All in all, I’m excited about the way these quick and easy glitter ornaments came together.
I love that they can be used in multiple ways as they would be pretty on a Christmas tree or on packages too.

These are so charming! I’m on “Team Glitter” and love the idea of using glitter paper! The mitten ornament is so cute and the embellishments are perfect! Great job!
I love these CoCo! Happy decorating.
SO pretty, CoCo!! Love the use of paper on your ornaments…that crazy glitter can get everywhere sometimes!!
CoCo, You are a genius for using glitter paper instead of making a mess with traditional glitter! Your ornament is so pretty, and I can’t get over how simple it was to make! The embellishment adds the perfect touch! I’m pinning this post so I can try this sometime!
Those mittens are adorable. I love how you embellished them.
Oh my goodness these are the most precious mitten ornaments CoCo! I love the bejeweled embellishments. They remind me of my grandmother’s old earrings! Pinning for inspiration!
So cute CoCo! Glitter paper is such a good idea!!! Genius. I love glitter too but will admit it can be messy. Adding glitter paper to the list. Thanks for th inspo and love your signature pink. It always looks amazing. Have a great day. XO- MaryJo
CoCo, you are brilliant! But this is not the first time, I’ve said that. But you really are. Why did I not think about using glitter paper? Because, yes, I’m one of those that isn’t a fan of glitter for weeks and weeks — but glitter paper. Ohm that’s the best of both worlds! And those embellishments — are they old clip on earrings? I swear they look like they came right out of my mother’s drawer. LOVE it!
Now, glitter paper is a great option to avoid the mess of glitter. Haha. I have glitter anxiety. You’re mitten ornaments are darling, Coco.
You always come up the the prettiest of ideas. I have a love, hate relationship with glittered ornaments. I use my pine dining table as a staging table when decorating my tree each year. I’m sure I can still find a piece or two of glitter from last year but I do love a sparkling tree.
Oh my gosh. I literally laughed out loud. Mr. SLH and some of my immediate family members also feel strongly about glitter. On the other hand, I love it! Whenever we empty our vacuum canister – there is always bits of glitter in it. I love the paper glitter mitten. Absolutely charming. You knocked this project out of the park!
I am love with these adorable mittens CoCo. I chuckled when you said not everyone likes glitter in your home, same here. My husband calls it devil dust, but I am a glutton for punishment, and spread glittery bits all through our home. These look so high end, and I especially love your adornments. I need to investigate these pearls, and bits to see what all I can come up with. Thank you for your inspiration. always so enjoyable when I visit you!
