Simple Ways to Feel More Organized After a Trip

We’re sharing simple ways to feel more organized after a trip today!

Spring and Summer are typically the biggest travel months outside of the holiday season.

Have you made any plans yet?

There are so many fun things to look forward to in the days leading up to a trip.

For example, packing fresh sundresses, researching new places to eat, antique stores to shop, local haunts to discover and hiking trails to explore.

Let’s face it though, the trip back can be a little exhausting.

Especially, if the trip was jam packed with activities.

So, to help take the pressure off a bit I’m sharing simple things you can do to help make the transition home easier.

Most of these ideas can even be organized before you leave the house or while you’re away.

Simple Ways to Be More Organized After a Trip or Vacation-The Crowned Goat

Here’s a look at simple ways to feel more organized after a trip or vacation…

Clean Before You Go

Clean your house or hire a cleaning service before you leave for vacation.

Or consider having your housekeeper clean while you’re away.

There’s nothing better than walking into a clean house after a long trip!

Feel More Organized After a Trip by Having an Easy Freezer Meal Ready to Go

One of the easiest ways to feel more organized after a trip is to prep dinner in advance by having a simple freezer meal on hand.

That way, you’ll have something to eat when you get home.

And you won’t have to spend a lot of extra time in the kitchen when you’re tired.

Lasagna, stew, chili, gumbo, and chicken pot pie are always a big hit after a long trip.

Create a Grocery Shopping List Before You Return Home

If you have a long car ride or flight back, create a shopping list, schedule your groceries to be delivered or picked up via curbside service.

This will help save time when you have other things to catch up on.

Feel More Organized After a Trip with a Tidy Laundry Room

Another easy way to feel more organized after a trip is to make sure your laundry room is neat and tidy before you leave.

Empty your laundry baskets, make sure your folding station and drying racks are cleared off and your washer and dryer are empty.

Also, be sure your laundry essentials are properly stocked.

That way, you can hit the ground running when you return home and have piles of vacation laundry to tackle.

I always start a load before I put away clean clothes and sort through toiletry items.

It helps save time!

Create a To-Do List or an Errand List on the Trip Home

Create a to-do or an errand list filled with notes on the ride or the flight back.

It will help you understand exactly what you need to do and where you need to start when you get home.

Feel More Organized After a Trip by Purging Vacation Photos On Your Way Home

Another easy way to feel more organized after a trip is to go through vacation photos on your phone.

Preferably, on the way home, if you can.

It will give you extra time to decide which photos you want to keep and which ones you want to delete.

Clean Your Luggage Before You Put It Away

I have an off white luggage set that I adore.

And while I don’t expect it to stay pristine, I do want to it last as long as possible.

So, before I put my suitcases away, I vacuum out the inside with our Dyson.

Then I wipe down the outside with a magic eraser.

That way, it’s clean and ready to go when I want to use it again.
