Waking up with the Reacher Sunrise Alarm Clock
I’m sharing my experience with the Reacher sunrise alarm clock today!
Truth be told, I’m one of those people who is constantly evaluating things.
Especially when I’m trying to make our daily lives easier or better.
So, a few weeks ago, when I was evaluating our nightly routines, I naturally began thinking about our morning routines as well.
For the most part, the questions I asked myself were easily answered…
- Am I happy with my mattress and sheets?
- Do I love my pillows?
- Are my current pajamas keeping me cool at night?
- Do I still enjoy journaling and reading before bed, or have I been scrolling a bit too much lately?
- Is my skincare routine sustainable?
- Do I still look forward to drip coffee in the mornings?

A Fresh Start…
While I was genuinely flying through the questions, there was one that tripped me up almost immediately.
- Does waking up to the alarm on my phone still serve me well?
After a few moments, I decided no, it didn’t serve me well at all.
When I wake up, I want to be eased out of one dreamland and into another where I feel rested and like the best version of myself.
I don’t want to wake up to an alarm that’s loud, but I also don’t want to wake up to an alarm that vibrates either.
I need something that’s slow and steady yet feels natural.
Even at 5 am.
So, I took a deep dive into sunrise alarm clocks.

What are Sunrise Alarm Clocks?
If you’re not familiar, sunrise alarm clocks simulate a realistic sunrise and sunset.
They use calming sounds to make waking up a gentle and pleasant experience.
Of course, the Hatch Alarm is the first one that came to mind because all my friends love theirs.
But I was looking for something more basic and budget-friendly.
So, after reading lots of reviews online, I settled on the Reacher Wood Grain Sunrise Alarm Clock, which I purchased from Amazon.

Let’s Talk Pros of the Reacher Wood Grain Sunrise Alarm Clock…
Right away, I appreciated how easy it was to set up.
The Sunrise Alarm comes with simple instructions that explain the buttons on the top of the device, how to dim the wake-up light, a list of sleep sounds to explore, and the overall basics of how to quickly set up your alarm.
I also appreciated how easily you can dim the numbers on the front of the Reacher sunrise alarm.
Especially given even a small amount of light can wake me up in the middle of the night.
So, that was a big plus.

In addition, you can utilize the alarm’s natural light feature to gently wake you prior to your scheduled alarm time.
Mine starts slowly turning up the light 20 minutes before the sound goes off, but you can set it to start up to an hour before your alarm.
I use the sounds of birds chirping, but there are 26 sounds to choose from.
Another pro of the sunrise alarm clock is that you can set a 5-180 minute timer that automatically turns off the sound and night light, so you can have a personalized bedtime routine too.
There are 8 colors of the nightlight with adjustable brightness, including a soft pink

.Potential Cons of the Reacher Sunrise Alarm Clock…
One thing to note is that the brightest setting on the Reacher Sunrise Alarm is a warm yellow tone and measures around 120 lux which does not seem as bright as other popular brands I researched.
Furthermore, the Hatch sunrise alarm clock offers a subscription service where you can create more personalized settings.
None of these things were a deal breaker for me because I wanted something basic that would help me ease into my morning and nightly routines, though.

The Case for Peace Filled Routines…
All in all, I’ve genuinely enjoyed using this sunrise alarm clock.
It’s been about a month now, so I’ll update this post as I continue to use it more.
The good news is that I’ve yet to sleep through an alarm.
Not to mention, it’s lovely to wake up in such a peaceful way.
There’s no denying, good quality sleep can be hard to come by.
And while I might still face a few restless nights here and there, at least I’ll have calm mornings to look forward to.
