Kitchen Refresh

Kitchen Refresh

It all started when we decided to give the breakfast area a little refresh. As I’ve shared with you guys before, this house has an open floor plan making it hard to change things up in one room without changing things up in the adjoining rooms. So, once we finished with the breakfast area, I decided to add a few new things to the kitchen too. Here’s a look at the kitchen refresh…

Latest Finds from the Treasure Trail

Latest Finds from the Treasure Trail

You would have to go all the way back to this post in late October to see my latest finds from the treasure trail. I’ve been trying SO hard to use the things I have stockpiled before adding to my inventory closet. But last month, I got a really sweet birthday surprise, which allowed me the chance to hit the roads hot again. If last year was the Year of the Goat, this year should have been called The Year of Ironstone. Here’s a look at my latest finds from the treasure trail…

Pure White Painted Dresser

Way back in November when we were in the thick of trying to get Loblolly Manor ready for Thanksgiving, my aunts found a nine-drawer dresser for me. It was a pale yellow with bamboo inspired trim. The previous owner must love to be organized because there were labels all over the front of the drawers too. But you can’t beat all those drawers for storage. Here’s a look at how we gave this dresser a fresh new feel…

One Neutral Fabric Four Different Ways

Have you guys been to the fabric store lately? There are so many beautiful things to choose from. I mostly pick up vintage fabrics when I find them at thrift stores or estate sales so it was fun to look at new patterns and textures. I bought the prettiest lightweight flannel fabric the other day. It was really inexpensive and the neutral color made it perfect for several projects. Here’s how you can use one neutral fabric four different ways…

The Year of Cozy

The Year of Cozy

I’ve loved to read books and magazines for as long as I can remember. While we were in the mountains over the holidays I decided I was going to give myself the gift of carving out intentional time in my schedule each week to enjoy books again. This is also the same time I realized we were all reading similar books on Instagram and the monthly series, What’s on my Nightstand was born. This month the book, The Year of Cozy is on my nightstand and it’s so good.

How to Make Soy Candles

I’m so excited to share today’s post with you guys. It’s the second installment of a year-long series called …With My Sisters. This past weekend, we spent a fun afternoon together making soy candles that smell totally dreamy. I don’t know about you guys but the three of us are constantly burning candles. Walking into a home that’s filled with a warm and cozy smell instantly makes you feel welcomed. Here’s a look at how you can make your own candles too….

Pantry Makeover Reveal

In the midst of organizing the kitchen, I got a crazy idea to give the walk in pantry a little makeover too. We gave the walls a fresh coat of paint, created a space for vintage dishes, party supplies, updated the dry goods side of the pantry, built two storage drawers, put up a chalkboard for the weekly grocery list and even made a dog feeding station from an old nightstand. I can’t wait to show you the before and after photots. Welcome to our pantry makeover reveal….

How to Create a Wellness Basket

How to Create a Wellness Basket

Being that we’re in the middle of cold and flu season, I thought I would put together a basket of ideas that can help you show a friend, neighbor, family member, or even a coworker that you love them well. It doesn’t take long time to put together and most of these items can be found at the local grocery or big box store. Here’s what you’ll need to create a wellness basket…

Lucketts Green Milk Painted Chairs

While we were waiting on my dad to finish the farm table for the dining room at Loblolly, my mom and I got to work on another set of chairs. We’ve used varied colors of chalk paint on almost all of the painted pieces throughout the house and we wanted something with a totally different finish. Since the living room opens up to the kitchen, which already has touches of green, we chose Miss Mustard Seed Milkpaint in Lucketts Green for the accent chairs…

Loblolly Manor Coffee Table

The budget for Loblolly has been largely used for construction issues, roofing concerns, new appliances and flooring. We’ve had to get really creative with the pieces we’re bringing in to keep the French Country look my mom is after. When we found this coffee table base on the side of the road, the top was missing and I’m pretty sure a dog had been chewing on one of the legs. Here’s how we created a coffee table for Lobolly Manor with a few pieces of scrap wood….
