Christmas Bedroom Inspiration

Today,  we’re sharing simple Christmas bedroom inspiration!

In all honesty, I can’t say we make decorating the bedrooms for Christmas a priority this time of year.  We’re usually doing good to get the common areas decorated, the tree up, the porches pulled together and all the gifts wrapped and shipped in time.

But one of my aunts suggested we all try decorating at least one bedroom for the holiday season way back in October.

So, I decided to give it a go.

Finding  a Piece of Fabric for Inspiration

Before we left for Thanksgiving, you may remember we created this simple bed scarf from fabric we found on sale at our local Joann Store.

This piece of fabric pretty much set the tone for our entire Christmas color palette and decorating scheme.

It feels festive and neutral all at the same time.

You guys know how much I love white and if it were solely up to me, I would have a white or blush inspired Christmas every year ?

But since it’s not just up to me, this seemed like a totally doable compromise.

Adding Festive Touches to the Nightstands

We try to keep things as simple as possible on the nightstand to save room for glasses and other nighttime essentials like water.

This framed chalkboard has been used all over the house in various places.  Most recently, in my office, The Crowned Goat Cottage.

I try to reuse as much of our old Christmas decor as I can because we have almost no storage space.

These wreaths were part of our rustic-inspired Christmas a few years ago. I love the red berries with a little bit of “snow.”

Keeping it Simple on the Dresser

We gave this dresser a makeover as part of the One Room Challenge several years ago. The black was such an elegant change!

It really didn’t need a lot of decorating – just a few simple touches.

Christmas Bedroom Inspiration Ideas: Creating a Seating Area

One of our priorities during that project was to create a seating area in the bedroom to give it a bit of a lounge feel.

I can honestly say, it was one of the best decisions we made!  This area is used every day now.

I wish you guys could feel how soft this red throw is. Oh, my word, it’s like snuggling up with a bunny!

Throws like this are such an easy way to add color and texture to your Christmas bedroom during the holiday season.

I’m frequently asked about the sconces we installed behind the headboard.

They were such an easy add! It really gave us a lot of value for very little money. And we use them nearly every day.

Have you guys finished wrapping all of your presents yet?

I’m still waiting on a few things I ordered to arrive. And I have a couple of stocking stuffer items to pick up too.

Despite all the hustle and bustle, I’m thankful for a place to be able to relax and unwind at the end of the day.

And while I might not go all out with Christmas bedroom inspiration every year, I’m thankful this year my aunt talked me into it ?

I hope you’ve enjoyed this bit of Christmas bedroom inspiration.  Do you decorate your bedroom for Christmas or just decorate the common areas? Until next time, I’ll see you on Instagram, Facebook and Pinterest.

  1. CoCo, I think I love this room more every time you show it! So pretty for Christmas – but not overly done – just right! The seating area is so inviting. And, of course, that last pic fills my heart right up! Thinking of you and your family during this first season of all your losses during the year. Love each other good and hug tight!

  2. This is gorgeous! This is the first time we have decorated a bedroom for Christmas too (insert forehead smack) and we love it! Now we’ve done TWO LOL and just love it. There’s something calming and magical about it. Love how the red, black and gray marry so well together. Truly so very pretty. A little teary-eyed because we do not have one present purchased or wrapped…not kidding. It’s just that kind of year. We will get it together at some point! Cheers and miss you terribly!

  3. CoCo you had me at the monogramed sheets and the sweet dog. I love this simplicity of your decor – sometimes the simplest things say so much more!!! Merry Christmas!

    1. Thank you so much, Tammy, I really appreciate it! If it were up to me I’d monogram everything. Thankfully, Jelly Bean doesn’t mind it either 🙂 Merry Christmas to you and your family, CoCo

  4. This room is perfect! I love the colors. Our bedroom has black nightstands and a matching dresser. Not fond of the matchy matchy but it works for now. I have sooooo many other things I want to switch out first. Anyway, (I always seem to blurt out extra unneeded info) I decorated our bedroom in the gray and red too. It’s not as luxurious as this one but you’ve given me some extra beautiful ideas to add to it. Thanks! Merry Christmas.

    1. Thank you so much, Cindy, it was fun to create! We have tons of rooms that still have matchy matchy furniture in them. I keep hearing “it’s going to make a comeback” so maybe we should hold onto the pieces after all 🙂 Sending you big hugs for the happiest holiday season ever, CoCo PS: I love when you blurt out unneeded info – it makes me feel normal 🙂

    1. Thanks so much, Kim, I really appreciate it. Hugs, CoCo

  7. CoCo, your aunt was soooo right! Your bedroom shows beautifully and I love your iron bed… <3 Happy to feature your beautiful post at this week's Share Your Style #286 and because I never finished visiting everyone last week: I shared your Christmas Door Entryway at #285 last Wednesday. Too busy with school and Christmas to get everything done (I think we all know this feeling!). 😉

Enjoy your lovely sitting area and the bedding is really pretty for this time of year,
    Christmas hugs,
    Barb 🙂
p.s. I have a board on Pinterest called Animal Friends and your puppy is now happily snuggling there, too. <3

    1. You are so sweet to me, Barb, thank you so much! It’s crazy how we wait all year for the holidays and then feel rushed to get everything finished the entire time. I’m a planner and I feel that way too so I can only imagine the extra pressure you’ve been under from trying to wrap everything up at school. I know it’s been a wild year for you guys so I’m keeping you at the top of my prayer list and sending you tons of hugs for a peace-filled and healthy holiday season. Merry Christmas, CoCo
