DIY Pink Himalayan & Rosemary Salt Scrub

With the holidays in full swing and Christmas less than a week away, I thought I would share this super simple DIY Pink Himalayan & Rosemary Salt Scrub recipe with you today. Not only does this salt scrub smell amazing, it’s also an easy last-minute gift idea to give to your mom, sisters, besties, or close girlfriends!

In fact, it’s so simple I created this recipe late last week while I was putting together a gift basket for one of my accountability partners. I hosted her for a celebratory lunch, year in review and new year planning session and while I don’t want to break her confidence with specifics, I’ll just say there were a lot of happy tears that day.

Honestly, she had accomplished way more than either of us could have imagined when she started back in January and it was so cool to be by her side the whole way. Truly, it takes SO much work and motivation to keep going for an entire year. I couldn’t be prouder of her and proud for her too!

Anyway, one of the things we all do us to use the last few weeks of the year to reconnect with family, prayerfully consider what we want to create for the upcoming year, and to carve out a little time to reflect on what worked well (and what did not work well) for us throughout the year.

And what better way to reflect and relax than with a pink Himalayan salt scrub, right?

Here’s a look at the supplies and steps you’ll need to create this recipe too…

Pink Himalayan & Rosemary Salt Scrub Recipe Supplies:

  • 1-2 cups Pink Himalayan Salt (we used Dr. Teal’s Pink Himalayan Mineral Soak)
  • Rosemary (we used 2-3 fresh sprigs, but you could also use rosemary essential oil)
  • Food Grade Container Jar with Lid that Seals
  • 1 tsp Vitamin E Oil (optional)
  • ½-3/4 cups (depending on the size of your container and how many cups of pink Himalayan salt you used) Coconut Oil
  • Measuring Cup
  • Bowl
  • Spoon
  • Kitchen Scissors
  • Ribbon/Labels (optional)

Pink Himalayan & Rosemary Salt Scrub Steps:

Step 1: Pour 1-2 cups (depending on the size of your container) of Pink Himalayan Salt in a small bowl.

Step 2: Melt coconut oil according to the directions on the back of the jar of coconut oil. Pour coconut oil into the small bowl. Be sure to use caution and care as coconut oil will be hot.

Step 3: Add Vitamin E oil, if desired.

Step 4: Blend ingredients together, well with a spoon.

Step 5: Mix in rosemary.

Step 6: Scoop or spoon blended salt scrub into a food-grade container jar that has a lid that seals.

Step 7: Embellish with gift tag and ribbon if desired.

As with most homemade scrubs depending on the type of oil you choose to use, the oil may either settle at the bottom of the jar or will rise to the top of the jar, so you may have to mix it up before use.

Most importantly always, always, always utilize common sense and take necessary precautions, as Pink Himalayan and Rosemary Salt Scrub will become slippery after use. I always clean out the shower or the bathtub after I finish using a scrub like this because safety is of upmost importance!

I know this time of year can be a really busy one so I’m hoping you guys are making and taking extra time to relax amid all the hustle, bustle and holiday festivities. Easier said than done I know but making yourself a priority now will allow you to be fully present and renewed in those sometimes hectic days leading up to Christmas and ready for the New Year.

I’ll see you guys back here tomorrow. I’m thinking the littles are probably out of school right now or if not, they will be this week so I’m sharing a quick and easy Christmas cookie recipe your whole family can enjoy.

Until next time, I’ll see you on Instagram, Facebook and Pinterest.

Many blessings,

CoCo
